Medical Association: Coronavirus outbreak yet under control

Dr Choi Kin, former president of the Hong Kong Medical Association, criticized the World Health Organization's claim that there is no need to wear a mask when there is no signs of illness is inappropriate. Choi countered that there had already been many "Invisible patients" spreading the virus, if people do not wear masks, the outbreak will not stop. He doubted, "I am not sure whether the government has exercised their independent thinking, and it is not necessary to follow the WHO recommendations word by word blindly".

When taking a group photo, Choi, the only person in the audience wearing a black mask suddenly showed pro-democracy protest slogan "five demands, not one less" by raising 5 fingers on one hand and one on the other.

China: The World's Appendix?

In face of the coronavirus outbreak, U.S. dollar, stock, gold and oil futures perform relatively well, as massive sell-off has yet occured; however, IMF said on Feb 20 it is premature to give precise projections of China's economic growth and the scenario of a U curve cannot be excluded.

Following China's expulsion of Wall Street Journal reporters, it seems that neither the world needs China's production lines, nor China needs Wall Street's "foreign intervention."

In response to China's wage rise and the Communist Party's regulatory constraints, companies have transferred their manufacturing base to Southeast Asia in recent years.

While any statistics of China including the PRC's territorial scope remains a state secret, the epidemic makes it even more unlikely for China's actual economic data to be disclosed.

After all, the China model may not be as sustainable and would perhaps become an anomaly in economic history.

Paper Over the Cracks: Civil servants Pushed to Buy Masks for Government

On an online platform, government staff revealed that they were pushed to buy masks for the government online. In normal cases, the Government Logistics Department is to be responsible for supporting other departments in areas of procurement and supplies. However, according to the report, other civil servants, even senior officials like Senior Engineers (SE) and Chief Engineers (CE), were drafted in to purchase masks online.

They were now assigned a target number of masks and were asked to search for sources online themselves, while transactions were restricted to be below $5000 and in accordance with standards of Correctional Services Institutes. However, the statement pointed out that under the preexisting Stores and Procurement Regulations, it will be illegal to do so as it forces staff to make repeated purchases. Despite higher officialsā€™ best efforts to appease the staff, many public servants voiced their discontent for being forced to commit illicit acts. ā€œYou havenā€™t been using your brain. How come you still canā€™t use it now?ā€

China Declares ā€˜state of warā€™ against Virus, with an Evil intent

//Meanwhile, the infection rate other than Hubei province is decreasing. If the infection rate outside Hubei is indeed plummeting, it should be good for the community to go back on track, and the government should comfort the citizens with relief. However, the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention warned the general public saying that a ā€œSerious Battle is Comingā€. It also stated the current situation is a ā€œdecisive momentā€, ā€œstatus in dangerā€, ā€œcritical momentā€, and even declared the country to be in ā€˜state of warā€™ against the coronavirus.

//An ordinary citizen can only interpret the situation, from these clues, to decide whether the infection figures or the governmentā€™s executive orders is more reliable, if not by imagination.

//Hongkongers should support each other, fight till the last, until the radical changes at PRC happen

Coronavirus could be knockout blow for Hong Kong's once-thriving tourism, retail sectors

//Business is so bad that Bennell has pulled his two teenage sons out of international school to cut costs. If things don't turn around, he might be forced to leave the city that has been home since 1993.

//"This is the straw thatā€™s going to break the camelā€™s back. Itā€™s horrific," said the 46-year-old. "This is the worst Iā€™ve ever seen it. Itā€™s unbelievable."

//Tourist arrivals in Hong Kong in February fell to under 3,000 a day on average, from around 100,000 in January, which was already less than half the traffic from January 2019.

//more than 100 restaurants had closed.

//a dim sum restaurant business had dropped 30-50% during the protests, but the coronavirus had raised that to 70-80%.

//The Hong Kong Retail Management Association said it had entered "a super-cold winter" threatening its survival.

// a lounge survived last year with "after-protest people" turning up after police cleared the crowds from the streets.

Wearing a mask is crucial in the prevention of virus transmission
As the virulent #COVID_19 spreads all over the world, some foreigners living in China might urge their government to take action. Some countries such as Taiwan, Japan and USA have already evacuated their own citizens out of China in a bid to protect their citizens from being infected by virus. Most of foreigners support the decisions of their government.

However, some foreigners decided to stay in China, rather than returning back to their countries. The reason is not only just to keep their homes away from the the virus. They also get to enjoy free medical treatments provided by Chinese government.

Nevertheless, some international students cannot help but feel abandoned when they see other classmates evacuated out of China. However, they have no bargaining power to request for any help from their countries as their countries are also afraid of offending China, who is often seen as a a ā€œGiantā€ in the world. Who will help them if their countries decide to leave them behind for good?

Fearless HuBei-Woman Roared: Support HK & Taiwan to Get Rid of Community Party PRC since Wuhan Virus is a plan!

(16-Feb) Under the high-pressure ruling by PRC Community Party (ā€œthe Partyā€), i.e. comprehensive surveillance and injustice legal system, most of the PRC citizens dared not to express their dissatisfaction. The Party puts human life as the lowest priority to maintain social stability even when the epidemic is out of control. It triggered the emotional breakdown of a woman from Hubei, where the virus outbreak is the most serious, roared with tears: ā€œI fully support theindependence of Hong Kong, Taiwan & Tibet, to get rid of the devil hands from the Party. The CCP is just a corruption regime and (China is) a devil society!ā€ Video of which was widely shared on Twitter.

Numerous criticisms for the source of Wuhan virus, some said itā€™s the virus leaked by National laboratory, some said the PRC citizens ate wild animals. The woman from Hubei pointed out: ā€œthe virus comes from Wuhan.. is a planned stratagem. All caused by power struggling within the Party, sacrificing the citizens, my family and parents are dying at home! No one care about our lives, the citizen lives. We cant buy drugs nor find a bed at the hospital even when we pay for that.

She continued to poke PRC citizen dare not to allege the Party: ā€œno one can speak freely, nobody. If there is one brave enough to tell the truth, he/she will be arrested to Police Station. Being interrogated, detained and eventually sentenced to imprisonment. The Party means the laws, not the laws itself to protect peopleā€™s right. The Party can sentence a person for any period they want, and lawyers have no function in PRC. A righteous lawyer will be arrested, he cannot speak the truth (he is unable to speak), under such devil regime, we cannot speak the truth,ā€

The woman from Hubei sounds tragic, facing the camera: ā€œI have to tell you all, sacrifices are inevitable in a revolution, one life? or two?... I want to, and I have to stand out. To speak for the truth, and scarifice for my family, and the freedom in the rest of my life.ā€ She frankly expressed that she well-understood coming consequence from her speech: ā€œI voiced out, I know itā€™s a risky move, Iā€™m in danger now. But I really collapsed, I cannot accept this situation: full house in hospitals, but no one has a bed, nor medicine, all news are fake on CCTV. ALL! I can hear the yelling and roaring from all patients, I have to voice out for myself, for Wuhan citizen and for all Chinese.ā€

Young Citizens Protested as They Never Forgot the 39-minute of Despair during 7.21 Incident

1325 | Times Square, Causeway Bay
"Lunch with you" was held in commercial districts across the city. It is not difficult to spot that most protestors in Times Square, Causeway Bay were from the younger generation. They chanted slogans, reminding the older working generations not to forget all injured citizens of the 7.21 incident, as well as the 39-minute of despair and anarchy. "Liberate Hong Kong, Revolution of our times!"
