Recruiters for controversial pro-Meng Wanzhou protest have Richmond and Regina links

More than two dozen people protested in downtown Vancouver for Men Wangzhaou on January 20, getting paid at stound $100 to $150 for it. Many of them were picketing and holding signs with messages such as "Free Ms. Meng. Bring Michael home", "Trump stop bullying us," "Equal justice.”

Reporters repeatedly tried to interview them and ask them questions. However, many of them were extremely unwilling to participate in the interviews. Those who were interviewed were often found unable to answer many of the interview questions.

This bizarre incident gained global media attention. Both Huawei Canada and the Canadian correspondent for CCTV, a state-owned broadcast network, denied involvements in this incident.

It was soon discovered that there were two women involved in this fake protest. One of them going by the name of Helen Zhou, who is the director of Arcadia Winery and Arcadia Trading Inc. of Richmond and a $1,200 donor to the BC Liberal Party in September 2018.

The second woman, Joey Zhang, was involved in recruiting and was reportedly the one who paid one of the participants.

The questions of who the two women work for, and what exactly are their motives still remain as an unanswered question.
