Kwok Wing-hang not reappointed as Competition Commission member
Pro-democracy lawmaker Dennis Kwok Wing-hang of Civic Party was not reappointed as Competition Commission member after his two-year term.
Chief Executive Carrie Lam stressed that the appointment is based on merit. When asked if it was a score-settling, Kwok said that he hoped that these independent departments would not be politicised.
Kwok was recently under attacked by Beijing openly. Many believed that Beijing, by criticizing Kwok, has intervened Hong Kong affairs, which is against the Basic Law and the One Country Two Systems police.
