Police Ticket a Journalist of Students Media HK for Group Gathering Ban

Netizens initiated a Kowloon March on Sunday, 6 September 2020. Police have patrolled and intercepted civilians at high profile in many different locations at Mongkok and Yau Ma Tei.

Police have cordoned the exit of Bank Center at Mongkok station with orange band and intercepted at least 7 people including journalist of Student Media HK for an hour.

In the end, tickets of group gathering ban were issued, and one person was brought to the police car.

Damon, journalist of Student Media who got the penalty ticket, stated that police checked if they had press identity card and said Police Media Liaison Cadre has a list of journalists. If journalists were not on the list, they would not be allowed to interview and would get the ticket of group gathering ban.

Journalist, Social Worker, District Councillor, First Aiders and Civilians Arrested by Police for Illegal Assembly

1730 | Sim City, Shantung Street, MongKok

Police arrested a PSHK journalist, a registered social worker, Sai Kwun District Councillor Cheng Chin-man, volunteer first aiders, and a group of civilians for illegal assembly and had their hands bound with cable tie.

As at 17:00 on September 6, 2020, police arrested at least 90 civilianns, of which at least 87 were charged with illegal assembly and 1 with national secutity violation.

Police Finds Fault with Bus Drivers and Bus Companies

In addition to the arrest of a New World Bus driver, Hong Kong police also accused the staff from Kowloon Motor Bus (KMB) of violating the gathering ban.

The crew from Kowloon Motor Bus was sent by their company to monitor the traffic conditions on Nathan Road due to the police operation and massive number of road blocks set on a Sunday.

Police demanded the staff from Kowloon Motor Bus to leave Nathan Road as they have "breached the law".
