Concerns Raised Over Public Health, As The Government do not have Full Knowledge of the Constituency of the Tear Gas Rounds Deployed

Secretary for Food and Health Sophia Chan Siu-chee admitted that the Hong Kong SAR Government did not know the actual constituency of the tear gas rounds deployed by the Hong Kong Police Force.

A guildeline (https://www.chp.gov.hk/en/healthtopics/content/460/102308.html) issued by the Centre for Health Protection on November 7 is supposed to inform citizens of how to deal with tear gas contamination. The public, however, have doubts on the accuracy of the information as to the type of tear gas grenades used in Hong Kong. Chan replied that the guideline was only based on the general materials available.

Hong Kong Government Resumes Schools amidst Triad Attacks and Toxic Air

After the HKSAR government 'fell' for what Carrie Lam referred to as a protesters’ “trap” and suspended schools for multiple days, the Education Bureau decided to resume classes on November 20, ignoring the chaotic traffic in multiple districts and toxic air which, filled with dioxin residues and tear gas pollution, continue to put the public's health (especially that of Secondary and Kindergarten students) at risk.

[Nov 20] The Education Bureau also continued to ignore how the Hong Kong Police Force has since June 6th violently threatened and intimidated teenagers due to their twisted and deluded sense. As class resumed, thr police stopped and conducted search on students in numerous MTR stations, causing severe service delay to train service.

In Tin Shui Wai, large group of students in school uniform were searched by riot police and while lining up across the MTR station. In the same station, pro-government supporters were filmed beating up a female student at the train carriage for over 30 seconds while yelling 'Beat her mother!'. No police showed up to stop the act.

On the same day, Hong Kong citizens called for another disobedience movement and students joined in to obstruct MTR services. Students from Yuen Long participated as well, but their school then sent teachers to find the five involved students, contact their parents for verbal warnings, and hand out disciplinary actions.

These all happened one day after Beijing announced Chris Tang as the new Police Commissioner of Hong Kong. Tang's previous post was indeed in Yuen Long, where the 721 and 731 Triad attacks and alleged police-triad collusions had occurred. It would seem the Hong Kong Police Force will head to a new direction upon the retirement of the current Commissioner Stephen Lo, but unfortunately the situation seems to be heading for the worse.

On the day Tang received his official appointment, at Shantung Street triads with axes were out on the street to intimate teenagers —astonishingly no arrests were made. There were at least two such incidents within 24 hours.

Hainan patient concealed facts and spat, leading to two medical staff being infected

(7 Feb) According to a report by Chinese news website Nanhai News, a man from the city of Dongfang, Hainan province went to two hospitals to consult doctors between 24 and 28 January after showing symptons of the novel coronavirus. At the hospitals, he deliberately concealed the fact that he had close contact with his elder sister and brother-in-law, both coming from Wuhan, Hubei province. While he was receiving saline solution, he repeatedly spat on the floor as well as argued with hospital staff. Subsequently, two medics from Dongfang People's Hospital wete tested positive for the virus.

The man, whose surname is Zhang, boarded a train on 29 January for Haikou City to do a check up at its People's Hospital, and he was diagnosed with the coronavirus. He has causrd a great number of medics and people who had close contact with him to be placed under quarantine. The area where he lives has adopted a "close-off management" measure. Zhang's behaviour was criticised as severely disturbing Dongfang City's infection control measure and causing a threat to public safety.

At present, Zhang is under investigation by the public security bureau in Dongfang City for jeopardising public safety. He has also been sent to a specific hospital for quarantine and treatment.
