Hi everyone, just sharing a quick update I came across this article from CNA.
Traffic accidents in Singapore have increased in 2025 , including accidents resulting in fatalities and injuries. With more vehicles and road activity, itβs a good reminder for all of us to stay safe whether we are driving, cycling or even crossing the road. π
At the same time, it might also be a good time to review whether you have adequate accident coverage in place. Accident plans can help cover things like medical expenses, fractures, or loss of income if something unexpected happens.
If anyone would like me to do a quick review of your current coverage or share what options are available, feel free to drop me a message. Happy to walk through it with you.
Stay safe everyone!

Great Eastern General Provides Support for Customers Affected by Middle East Flight Disruptions
1. I purchased my policy before the United StatesβIsraelβIran conflict began. Will I be covered if my trip is affected by this situation?
Travel insurance does not cover any claims arising from war-related events. This applies regardless of when the policy was purchased.
However, if your travel plans are disrupted due to this situation, you may be eligible for our support measures such as policy cancellation with a full premium refund (if no claim has been made), or a complimentary extension of cover for up to 30 days if you are stranded overseas.
2. Which travel destinations are affected?
Affected destinations refer to areas impacted by the current United StatesβIsraelβIran conflict and where related flight disruptions have occurred. Customers should refer to the latest MFA travel advisories at mfa.gov.sg for guidance.
3. My airline cancelled my flight and issued a full refund. Can I also get a refund for my travel insurance?
You may choose to cancel your Single Trip policies if you decide not to travel and are not claiming against the policy. We will waive admin charges and refund the premiums paid in full.
4. I am currently stranded in the Middle East while waiting for the airline to arrange a new return flight to Singapore. How can I request a trip extension for my travel insurance policy when my actual return date is still unknown?
Due to the flight disruptions occurring in the Middle East, we will be extending your policy coverage as a gesture of support to affected customers. This extension will be provided at no additional premium and will cover you for up to 30 days.
5. What should I do if I need to submit a claim?
Please prepare the following supporting documents before submitting the claim through our customer claim portal:
β’ Trip cancellation/ postponement/ disruption: Written confirmation from the airline or hotel regarding the cancellation, refund, or any charges incurred for your trip. Travel flight itinerary and supporting invoices.
β’ Travel delay: Scheduled and revised flight itinerary and boarding pass for every flight(s)/ letter from airline confirming duration of delay.

Seeing more and more companies announcing layoffs recently β Meta, Standard Chartered, even local companies shifting operations overseas.
Honestly, the working world today feels very different compared to before. Even good jobs and established industries no longer feel as βsecureβ as they used to be, especially with AI and automation moving so quickly.
Itβs also why I always feel financial planning today is not just about growing wealth, but making sure we have a safety net when unexpected things happen β whether itβs hospitalisation, accidents, loss of income, critical illness, or even sudden career changes.
And one thing Iβve noticed is many people still rely fully on company insurance benefits, not realising these coverages may stop once they leave the company or during unexpected transitions.
Not sharing this to create fear βΊοΈ just a reminder that having your own personal protection, emergency funds and long-term planning is becoming more important than ever in todayβs environment.

If you have a furkid at home, this may be something worth looking into pet insurance.
Just like us, pets can suddenly fall sick, get injured, or require unexpected vet visits. And as many pet owners would know, vet bills can add up quite quickly, especially if it involves scans, surgery, hospitalisation, or long-term treatment.
Pet insurance helps to provide some financial support for eligible vet expenses, so you donβt have to make difficult decisions purely based on cost when your pet needs care.
Iβm able to help with options such as Etiqa Tiq Pet Insurance and MSIG PawEasy Pet Insurance, depending on your petβs age, breed, and needs.
If you have a dog πΆ or cat π± and would like to find out whether pet insurance is suitable, feel free to drop me a messageπΎ

Hello All! π Sharing something this week that's easy to overlook but really matters especially if you've got ageing parents, or you're planning ahead for yourself.
From July 2026, the government is enhancing its long-term care subsidies, and more households will qualify (the income cap is going up from $3,600 to $4,800 per person). The Home Caregiving Grant is also rising to $600 a month, and CareShield Life payouts will grow faster from 2026.
The part worth knowing: even with these boosts, CareShield Life still only covers a portion of what long-term care actually costs if someone becomes severely disabled. The rest comes out of pocket.
If you've ever wondered 'would we be okay if Mum or Dad needed full-time care?' that's exactly the gap worth looking at. Happy to walk you through the numbers whenever you like π

*This Week's Insight: CPF Changes for 2026 Reshape Retirement Planning*
What's changing:
- Full Retirement Sum rises to $220,400 for those turning 55 in 2026 (Basic $110,200, Enhanced $440,800)
- CPF monthly salary ceiling reaches its final level of $8,000 from January 2026
- Someone turning 55 in 2026 can expect roughly $3,180 to $3,410 a month from age 65
- Contribution rates for workers aged 55 to 65 rise by 1.5 percentage points in total
- Eligible members aged 50 and above may receive a CPF top up of up to $1,500 in December 2026
Why it matters:
CPF gives a solid retirement floor, but it is designed for basic needs, not lifestyle. Knowing your actual monthly payout helps you see clearly whether you will face a shortfall, and how much private savings need to bridge it.
