Henry “Enrique” Tarrio, authorized his lawyer to attempt to blame President Trump for January 6th.

In yet another reoccurring example, Henry was facing prison time and with his back against the wall attempted to incriminate someone else in order to escape punishment. This time it was the only man who could potentially pardon him.
Henry Tarrio, the “leader of the Proud Boys” had his lawyer publicly say at trial: “It was Donald Trump’s words. It was his motivation. It was his anger that caused what occurred on January 6th in your amazing and beautiful city.” "It was not Enrique Tarrio. They want to use Enrique Tarrio as a scapegoat for Donald Trump and those in power.” If you’re aware your lawyer wants to say something of this magnitude in his closing statement and you don’t put a stop to it, you are complicit.
This particular turncoat incident had deep potential ramifications. This was 2023. What if the media ran hard with this story and made this the national narrative? The Jack Smith DC special council investigation was looking for a reason to tie Trump to J6. What if Smith used Henry’s lies to make a case that Trump prompted the Proud Boys to stop the certification of the election or overthrow the government? The media had already established the narrative that the Proud Boys spearheaded J6. Now the man who was the Proud Boys national chairman at the time of J6 had his lawyer tell the world that Trump made him do it. What if that moved the case forward? This was a four-count indictment of Trump for conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding and conspiracy against rights under the Enforcement Act of 1870. In just that brief description of charges the word “conspiracy” is mentioned three times. Tarrio’s lawyer’s closing statements, if true, would absolutely fit the description of a conspiracy. What if this had spurred a Trump conviction and subsequently cost Trump the election? If that thought even crossed Henry’s mind he obviously didn’t care. Henry would have chanced a Kamala Harris presidency if it meant he could escape punishment. This is not an overstatement.
Fortunately the story never gained traction. Even liberal prosecutors and media types know that Henry will sell out anyone to save himself. In a last ditch effort to gain sympathy points with a jury, Henry betrayed President Trump in the midst of the Biden administration’s attack on him.
A genuine Proud Boy would never have done this.
