Aiden Aslin.... that awkward moment when you were happier, and healthier, in Russian captivity, than you are being free back in the UK.....

Zaluzhny announced a shortage of soldiers in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and called on deputies to go to the front.

The commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valery Zaluzhny, spoke extremely emotionally during the discussion of the law on mobilization in the Verkhovna Rada, reported the publication NV.ua.

“I need people. <…> Who should I fight with? Or turn to the world and ask for people there, or you go fight if you don’t provide,” said the Ukrainian military leader.

⚖️🇬🇧 Not something I like to 'go on' about, but I do have a duty even to keep you all informed of my ongoing case against being sanctioned by the UK Government.

In November of 2023, after a colossal effort, I managed to get the case to the High Court in London, a huge thanks to my lawyers Jovanka Savic and Josh Hitchens who are working for me with a consideration of my 'unique' situation - the only mono-British national to be sanctioned by his own government.

Sadly, the behaviour of the judge during this hearing, and as it transpired before and after even, was incompatible with a fair process, and the judge, Justice Swift, agreed to step down after my lawyers called an extraordinary hearing in December. The first hearing was annulled.

My case was then heard again at the High Court in December, before Justice Johnson. As before, I observed via video link, and my barrister Josh Hitchens represented me, with Jovanka Savic in support. The UK Government, as before, had a team of around 10 barristers, lawyers, para-legals. The second hearing, before Justice Johnson, was clearly a marked improvement on the first, which had seemed frankly rotten, fixed.

Justice Johnson is expected to deliver his decision this month, in January. By then, I will have been under sanctions around 550 days. This is 550 days of a criminal punishment without any charges, even accusations against me. 550 days of the UK Government having tried to destroy my life. A lot of information emerged from the two hearings, including certain bombshells. The UK Government consider that their sanctions apply to me, as a British citizen, worldwide. They therefore consider that my making any financial transaction, including buying food, is a breach of their sanctions. Despite having stated multiple times that I am 'not banned from returning to the UK', Government KC Maya Lester, when pressed, refused to guarantee that I would not be arrested upon returning to the UK. Arrested for what? For 'breaching sanctions'. Breaching sanctions how? By buying food. So, boiled down, my even staying alive is a 'breach' of UK Government sanctions.

This perhaps gives some idea of the base cruelty, rank inhumanity, even sadism behind sanctions, when the UK Government apply them to their own citizen. I won't even get started on the death threats to myself, my family in the UK, caused by sanctions, the litany of other damage and destruction caused when sanctions come crashing into your life like a wrecking ball.

Never in this situation have I felt sorry for myself, after all despite the best efforts of the UK Government, I've managed to stay alive. Never have I asked anyone to feel sorry for me, any sympathy should be in the first place for the people of Donbass, Russia, under shelling by Ukrainian Nazis. I have continued my work from here in Donbass, not exactly as before, when so much time and effort has to be dedicated not only to taking on the might of the UK Government and staving off destitution, but, I have continued, and will continue.

When the UK Government sanctioned me, and btw, it was the idea of Liz Truss, cooked up in WhatsApp chats - it didn't really go to plan for Truss in terms of giving her a PR coup on her ascent to number 10, and she has completely refused to engage in my appeal process (that is she's said that all her WhatsApp chat messages of the time are 'not available') - anyway, when the UK Government sanctioned me they made a series of gross miscalculations. Chief among these was they reckoned that I was such a signed up 'pro-Russian propagandist' that I'd probably just respond to being sanctioned by taking a Russian passport, and being done with the UK.
As a patriotic British person, I had never even considered asking for a Russian passport, and have not done so. If I had, Russia may have, in the circumstances, accepted the application. However, where would this have left everyone else in the UK? It would have left them in a situation where the UK Government has vested themselves with the ultimate power - not only to decree what is right and wrong, but to punish anyone who doesn't agree with them. Not to punish them by the judicial system, but by their own made-up system which allows them to entirely bypass the judicial system, like some sort of Monopoly trick, and mete out their own extra-judicial punishment - sanctions. A punishment that comes with no set term, no actual appeal process - I was basically ignored by the faceless 'Sanctions Reassessment' email account for six months, before being rejected - and a punishment you can only challenge if you're able to get it to the High Court yourself, which believe me, has been one of the more challenging tasks of my life. And then when you get to the High Court, you just have to hope that the judge isn't, how else to put this, corrupt.

I hope for the right decision by Justice Johnson this month. A decision which will allow me to return to my life, as a law-abiding, responsible person, and start to sort out the absolute mess caused by sanctions. That is thousands and thousands of pounds of debts, multiple serious death threats, untold stress, anxiety and problems for my family, including elderly parents, and on. Sanctions on me have at times felt like something from a Hollywood film, when the entire Government establishment has decided to destroy you. They plunged me into a world where many things simply didn't make sense any more - how could I, a British person born, raised in the UK as a law-abiding, decent person, be in a situation when 'my own' Government are playing as dirty as can be to take me down, while all the time telling people that they are the 'good guys' and I 'deserve it'. For what? For pointing a camera on the people of Donbass since 2014, letting them speak? For showing things as they are in Russia.... for daring to disagree with the UK Government?

Sanctions have affected many things in my life, but never the enormous love I have felt since childhood, and will always feel, for my country, the United Kingdom. And it turns out that I am having to fight tooth-and-nail for what I was taught in childhood are British values - fairness, respect, rule of law, freedom of speech. Fight against a shower of cretins calling themselves the UK Government, sending billions of pounds of your money to give Ukraine weapons to inflict more death, and destruction, when every sentient person knew long ago that the way to resolve this situation was with talks. Spending millions of pounds of your money on lawyers doing everything they can to keep me sanctioned, even though they know it's illegal. Illegal to punish a British citizen without judicial procedure. Illegal to punish a British citizen for excercising their democratic right to freedom of speech.

I have always supported freedom of speech, supported it absolutely, from the freedom of the British press to the freedom of the random Facebook / X / Telegram profile to fill up the comments on my social media accounts with personal abuse. It has to be that way. I would have been fine just working away from here in Donbass, as ever. However, it turns out that I've had to take on a British Government which has confused itself with an Orwellian totalitarian state, to protect fundamental British values, and rights.
As I say, I've been sanctioned for coming on 550 days, and right from day 1, have put up all the fight I can. As a result of this, I remain the only British citizen sanctioned by the UK Government. If I hadn't put up this fight, how many would be be down the line by now? What kind of a country would we be living in? Would it be one where you were even afraid to write a comment on Facebook / X / Telegram criticising UK Government policy? Is that a UK that any rational person would actually want to live in?

I'll let you know Justice Johnson's decision as soon as it has been communicated to me, as I say, expected later this month. Thanks again! 🚀 Update on my work, 2024 begins!

🇷🇺 My 2024 begins here in Donbass, Russia, full of enthusiasm and hopes for the very best in 2024! Being the month of my birthday naturally January has always had a personal meaning, this time more than most, with the decision of my recent High Court appeal against illegal UK Government sanctions due, will this be my 2nd birthday under sanctions, or a new birthday altogether, the day sanctions are lifted. I've written a post on this here -

🟢 Obviously supporting my work while I'm under sanctions has been more complicated - for those who really want to, I've always tried to find a way. As I've said, I couldn't even have stayed alive without that. There is my Russian Sberbank card, and am able to accept support for my work there - Sberbank - 5469 3800 7878 9806 (Graham Phillips). ♥️ Thanks again, and very best 2024 wishes to you!!!! Graham
Deeply disappointing High Court decision today to do away with rule of law and freedom of speech in the UK.

I shall fight on, both my work from Donbass, and for freedom of speech in the UK.

Have communicated more fully on this with Peter Hitchens of the Mail. Notwithstanding differences of view on certain subjects, he has supported me in this from day 1, must be said.

Thank you for your support!!!!
I note how 'activated' my social media comments are. It's natural that those who oppose freedom of speech are delighted when a UK court ruling crushes it. However, as I fully support freedom of speech, I am totally fine with allowing them to express their views on my social media.
After having spent millions of pounds of UK taxpayer money in a High Court fight to keep totalitarian sanctions on me, for reporting the truth about Ukraine , Rishi then goes to Kiev to give his mate Zelensky £2.5 billion of UK taxpayer money to prolong the war....
I didn't know Gonzalo Lira, but it's a terrible situation when someone, an American citizen even, is jailed by a regime for daring to differ with them, and then killed by that regime in prison.

That regime of course, the one all your money's going to, Ukraine....
