❗️Ukrainian forces have destroyed a key bridge between Gorlovka and Yasinovataya (DNR), a bridge which everyone who travels around Donbass has crossed many times. A key strategic bridge, and one constantly used by civilians. A reminder that notwithstanding all else, Ukrainian forces continue to aggressively attack Donbass, and every civilian here is at risk from them, anywhere, at any time.
Michael Caine has announced he is retiring from acting.

How to even begin to express gratitude for the joy which Michael Caine has brought into our lives?? The enormous fun of Charlie Croker in The Italian Job, Jack Carter in Get Carter.... every single moment of that film cinematic legend... and in Newcastle! The 80s - bringing the magic in Educating Rita, saving grace of Jaws: The Revenge, dastardly fun of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, onto a slightly more fallow 90s before a rip-roaring 2000s with everything from an Austin Powers to the Batmans, and some real, including lesser-known, gems in-between, Harry Brown, which now looks more prescient than ever, for example.

Not that I know him, or have any way of communicating with him, but in any case, am sure you are with me on wishing Sir Michael a long, happy retirement, and just, endless thanks to him for all those moments of absolute cinematic magic which have so enriched our culture, brought so much joy into our lives!

His name is Michael Caine!

πŸ‡·πŸ‡Ί 18-days ahead of schedule, the Crimean Bridge has now been fully restored, after Ukraine's July sea drone attack, which both seriously damaged the bridge, and killed civilians crossing it.

I'm sure you join me in wishing only peaceful scenes going forward for this work of engineering wonder of our times - the Crimea Bridge!!

Over 10 days on when the attention of the world switched full-on over to Israel / Gaza, what is the difference here in Donbass?

Well, basically no difference. Despite Avdeevka starting to trend, don't be under any illusions about this - Ukraine's Nazi forces have been fighting hard for it, and they continue to fight hard.

In general, Ukrainian shelling of Donbass continues as it did before.

There's so much speculation, of course, and a widely-held belief that the Israel / Gaza situation will be in the interests of Russia in the Ukraine situation. I'm sure that as I do, you also hope only for the best, for peace and prosperity in Donbass, and beyond. As it stands, we're yet to see a tangible difference in the situation here connected to events in Israel / Gaza.
Btw, are we all decided now, that for a number of reasons, no one gives an actual f*ck about who Russell Brand may or may not have felt up in 2005? ☺️

A year ago today, the 'reign' (πŸ˜†) of Liz Truss as the UK's Prime Minister came to its end. It was an appointment that gave hope to every person in the UK.... that even if you have the IQ of a particularly cold Siberian winter, you too could get a shot at running the country one day πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
A year on from Liz, of course, our beloved United Kingdom is under the rule of Rishi Sunak. He's clearly not, as the fore-mentioned, an actual imbecile, but he's also just as clearly not quite right, is he....
And so, who'll be next.... πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€
Slovakia is what you would call, using the buzzword of our times, an 'outlier'. Congratulations to their new Prime Minister Robert Fico for stopping sending money to fund Ukrainian Nazis. May these funds rather be benevolently used to enrich the lives of Slovakian people. A beautiful country, I've visited many times, very nice people, and a great day for them!
And with all else happening in the world, the shelling of Donetsk by Ukrainian Nazis goes on, and on.....
