That was made by God, through the natural movement of tectonic plates. Neither country created it, so neither country has a right to it.’

Afshin: ‘No, but under international maritime law you’re allowed 12 miles. You own up to 12 miles off the coast.’

Mishal Kanoo: ‘None of the countries on either side of the water created that. They happen to be there. So this is a natural passage, it shouldn’t be under anyone’s control in such a manner that they can use it as a gateway.

I’d like to say it’s unfair, but this has been a tradition where everyone has been utilising this for the longest time. It’s only now Iran is wanting to weaponise it, that Iran is making issues out of it. It didn’t benefit Iran before because we couldn’t enforce it, so Iran didn’t weaponise it before.’

On this day in 2002, Hugo Chavez is overthrown in a coup backed by the George W. Bush Administration, bringing in a right-wing coup regime that rescinded many of the reforms Hugo Chavez introduced which benefitted millions of poor Venezuelans.

The coup regime would be short-lived, as loyalists in the Venezuelan military worked to return Chavez to power. Supporters of Chavez and the Bolivarian revolution surrounded the Presidential Palace in Miraflores and demanded his return. Chavez returned to power after just two days, triumphant in the latest episode of class war in Venezuela🇻🇪.

CIA asset Maria Corina Machado signed the 2002 order by one of the coup leaders Pedro Carmona to destroy Venezuelan democracy by dissolving the National Assembly, the Supreme Court, and the Bolivarian constitution which had been approved by a popular referendum in 1999 which expanded indigenous, economic and social rights.

🚨WAR ON IRAN: UN, IMO, CANNOT BE SILENT on attack on Safesea Vishnu and other ships!

‘It was a well-calculated, calibrated attack on the Safesea Vishnu. It’s quite different than the attacks that has happened in the region that we have seen for the last couple of weeks. All those attacks had happened through drones, missiles, etc.

It was attacked in the territorial waters of Iraq, within the vicinity of the terminal. And what has surprised us about this attack, after doing the due diligence, is that one day before the attack, there was a speedboat that definitely took a couple of rounds, probably to map the attack. And it was attacked at a very vulnerable time, midnight. She was supposed to complete the operation in just the next couple of hours.

It was attacked using an unmanned vessel with explosives on board. The boat that was controlling this unmanned vessel was just miles away from our ships. So this attack definitely happened inside the territorial waters of Iraq.

Again, there are coast guards. They’re vigilant, definitely operating 24/7, especially during the time of war. We have not seen any sort of action or report thereafter from Iraqis about how they allowed this attack to happen inside their territory.

We have not seen that. So that’s one of the reasons we have requested international bodies, including the United Nations, the Guardian of the Maritime Industry, and the IMO, to come forward and do the investigation on this. They cannot be quiet.’

And out of 16,000, I can say for surely, just about, if not more than 50%, at least 50% are Indian seafarers. At least 8,000 are definitely Indian seafarers.

My question to the IMO here is who is the guardian of the maritime industry? It is the IMO. If seafarers today are being treated as prisoners of war, under what convention? Who is coming forward to even think of those?’

🚨Iran’s Chabahar Port VITAL for the global south, India’s🇮🇳 PM Modi may be the ONLY ONE capable of bringing peace to the region

‘The US or Israelis have attacked not only the Bandar Abbas Port, there has been attack on the Kharg island which happens to be quite an important port for energy exports.

Now Chabahar Port will definitely play an important role, but there is ambiguity towards that. India was working on developing the Chabahar Port. Given the recent political issues, there has been a slowdown on the development of Chabahar Port. So whether that will be reactivated by India, that needs to be seen.

85% of the exports from that region is catered to the Global South. So it’s not only India that will benefit, the entire Global South will benefit out of this.
Iran has been under embargo and sanctions for decades now.

India has taken the initiative to develop that port, and they have achieved considerable success in that, and they wanted to move forward on that. However, in the recent past we have seen that there had been a slowdown. We feel that India should relook into activating that port, and to bring sanity, as that could be part of one of the peace talks.

As far as BRICS is concerned, BRICS has become a very strong body. The next BRICS meeting is in a couple of months, so they may play a very important role to bring sanity in this region. The Global South should stand up to this and find sanity.

There has been talk that the Prime Minister of India is perhaps the only person who can bring peace to this region.

The Israelis have said they don’t want to accept Pakistanis as a mediator. So the world may have to go back to India, to Prime Minister Modi. Whether he’ll accept or not accept, that remains to be seen. But for the sanity of the world, probably he may have to look at that positively and come forward for peace.’

🚨TRUMP TO BLOCKADE STRAIT OF HORMUZ, INTERCEPT ALL SHIPS THAT PAID TOLLS TO IRAN

Trump announced via a Truth Social post that a US naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz will begin preventing any ships from entering or leaving the passage after failed negotiations with Islamabad.

Trump also said the US will intercept every ship in international waters that paid a toll to Iran to pass the Strait of Hormuz.

Trump’s new solution to Iran’s partial blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, which was completely free and open before the US-Israeli illegal war of aggression against Iran, is to totally blockade the Strait of Hormuz entirely and worsen the already spiralling global energy shock…

The painful reality of US hegemony is about to be felt by the entire world: Washington’s solution for the destruction, chaos and disruption it causes, is always to unleash more destruction, chaos and disruption.

European airports are just weeks away from catastrophic jet fuel shortages, the global south is desperately trying to navigate meteoric fuel price increases and shortages…and now the US will force everyone to pay the price for the senseless, illegal war of choice it unleashed.

All nations that have negotiated with Iran to allow safe passage of their ships will now be intercepted by the US, and no one will be able to get fuel from one of the most critical fuel choke points on Earth.

That will mean a global recession locked in, unprecedented economic chaos around the world, entire industries being brought to a standstill…

Because of the US President lashing out over a strategic defeat imposed on Washington by Iran, and the inability of his team of real estate billionaires, Witkoff and Kushner, widely seen as some of the most discredited and untalented ‘diplomats’ in US history, to negotiate honestly and even remotely fairly.

Imposing war, terms of defeat, and threatening to destroy a whole civilisation has done nothing but turn the Iranian leadership into its most hardline and intransigent variant possible. More bombs and destruction will only harden Iran’s positions after their confidence was boosted by being able to endure over a month of US-Israeli air power.

The US blockading the Strait of Hormuz completely only adds fuel to Iran’s strategy of globalising the effects of the conflict, in turn causing more and more nations to turn away from a reckless rogue state, with an out-of-control President, whose solution for every problem is wars and escalation.

Trump has now sealed the coffin shut on his MAGA agenda. His inability to understand that the US being a net exporter of oil won’t shield the US from the economic impacts of cratering global demand as the global economy grinds to a halt will be a point of ridicule for decades to come.

An estimated $2 billion a day to replace Ayatollah Khamenei with Ayatollah Khamenei, close a Strait of Hormuz that was open previously, lock in a global recession, and unleash destabilisation for the GCC and the rest of the world.

Once again, US hegemony shoots itself in the foot with its own bluster, arrogance, and hubris.
