On this day in 1955, Cuban๐จ๐บ revolutionary Fidel Castro starts the 26th of July Movement, (named after the date of attack on the Moncada Barracks), the organisation that would be the vanguard of the Cuban revolution.
In 1979 when visiting New York, facing CIA assassination threats, Fidel was asked if he wears a bulletproof vest, he showed his bare chest and replied he wears a moral vest which is strong and has protected him always. Fidel survived 634 assassination attempts.

On this day in 1926, Cuban๐จ๐บ Revolutionary Fidel Castro was born. He would lead a campaign to overthrow the US-backed dictator Fulgencio Batista. Before the revolution, US financial interests owned 90% of Cubaโs mines, 80% of public utilities, 50% of railways, 40% of sugar production & 25% of bank deposits.
In the first 30 months after Castro came to power, more classrooms were built in those 30 months than had been built in the previous 30 years. Within the first 6 months , 600 miles of road had been built across the island, while $300 million was spent on water and sanitation schemes. Over 800 houses were constructed every month in the early years of the administration in a measure to cut homelessness.
Cuban healthcare was nationalised and expanded, bringing free healthcare access to millions. Universal vaccination for childhood diseases was introduced, leading to infant mortality rates plummeting. Since 1963, more than 600K Cuban health workers have provided medical services in more than 160 countries.

Julian Assange:
โA great number of those working for liberal causes are not only shy but borderline collusive. They want change to happen nicely, and it won't. They want decency to come about without anybody suffering or being embarrassed, and it won't. And most of all they want to give many of the enemies of open government the benefit of the doubt, and I don't. It's not just a difference of approach, it's a complete schism in our respective philosophy. You can't go about disclosure in the hope that it won't spoil anybody's dinner.โ

On this day in 1947, Britain๐ฌ๐ง partitioned India๐ฎ๐ณ to create the new states of India and Pakistan.
For decades, Britain fuelled religious tensions between Hindus & Muslims to undermine the Indian independence movement with divide and rule tactics, placing an emphasis on religion and caste like never before. Britainโs disastrous partition of India led to 1 million people being killed in the violence and mass migration. 10-20 million people were displaced.
Winston Churchill backed the plan to partition the country, believing that an Islamic Pakistan would serve as a loyal Western vassal against the Soviet Union and a socialist India.
In a further disaster of partition, Britain drew Pakistanโs borders to include Bangladesh. With Pakistanโs Jinnah set on enforcing Urdu as the sole national language, the effort to suppress Bengali and treating Bengalis as second-class citizens would boil over less than 2 decades later in 1971 when Pakistanโs Army would commit a genocide against Bangladesh, killing 3 million

Throughout all of Africa, the US๐บ๐ธ State Department counted just 9 terrorist attacks in 2002 and 2003, the first years of US counterterrorism assistance to Niger๐ณ๐ช.
Last year, the number of violent events in Burkina Faso, Mali and Western Niger alone reached 2737 (Africa Center for Strategic Studies), a jump of more than 30,000%. During 2002-2003, terrorists caused 23 casualties in Africa. In 2022, in just 3 of these nations in the Sahel, 7900 people were killed.
The US has spent $500 million since 2012 in Niger to โfight terrorismโ. Why is wherever the US and its allies go to โfight terrorismโ, terrorism becomes an even bigger threat than it was before?

ICYMI: Ukraineโs๐บ๐ฆ President Zelensky has decided it would be a great idea to meet with Andriy Biletsk, founder of the neo-Nazi Azov Battalion, who once pledged to โlead the white races of the world in a final crusadeโฆagainst Semite-led Untermenschen.โ
During a Patriots of Ukraine meeting in 2009, Biletsky rambled: โHow can we describe our enemy? The authorities and the oligarchs. Do they have anything in common? Yes, they have one thing in common: they are Jews, or behind them are their real masters, Jews.โ
Yet the US and Western Europe continue to deny their previous reports that Ukraine has a dangerous, armed neo-Nazi problem and insist the danger of the Ukrainian far-right, now armed with the most sophisticated weaponry in NATOโs arsenal, is not a problem because the President of Ukraine has Jewish heritage.
