The Palestinian resistance in Gaza, effectively a militia of an open-air prison camp, remains undefeated despite being attacked by the most powerful military in the region, armed with the most technologically advanced weaponry that the US, UK, and EU nations had to offer. Their objective of using Israeli hostages as a bargaining chip to facilitate the release of some of the thousands of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons has succeeded.

Billions of people will not forget the mask being ripped off of the US-led ‘rules-based order’, with all the lectures on human rights and international law being cast aside to pursue a systematic annihilation of some of the poorest people on Earth; the Palestinians of Gaza.

The horror of seeing dead, injured, and starving children, and the devastated parents holding the corpses of their children on our smartphone screens for over 15 months won’t be forgotten, neither will the videos of Israeli soldiers gleefully boasting about their war crimes and committing them on camera for the world to see.

The real meaning of the US-led rules-based order may be ‘submit, or be annihilated’, but the Palestinian people never stopped resisting the occupation. The Palestinian people may have endured suffering as they never have before, but the Palestinian people and the Palestinian national resistance did not submit to Israel and the United States.
