Scholz condemned the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine” and called on Putin “to end it and withdraw troops”, Scholz’s spokesman said.

Scholz also said Russia must be willing to “negotiate with Ukraine with the aim of achieving a just and lasting peace and stressed Germany’s unwavering determination to support Ukraine in its defensive struggle against Russian aggression for as long as necessary.”

Scholz took this opportunity for diplomacy and used it to virtue signal, and then hang up.
