if the file is too large (e.g., 30 MB), a horizontal panning/scrolling mode gets activated. The entire text won't render fully and will break into fragments. You can read the text by swiping/scrolling left and right. Don't worry about the rest—it won't get corrupted. Your code will just be displayed in chunks. It gets saved in the cache. Once you're done, save it, and it will stay as is. Note: the UI is not complete...
