FYI for those interested in street chess alongside great music, Alichessclub will be hosting in the District M festival this Friday to Saturday at Suntec Plaza. There will also be other activities such as candle marbling and jaguar tattoos etc. ♟️ 🕺

🚶‍♂️🌿 FriendGo First Community Hike! 🌿🚶‍♀️

Hi everyone! We’re excited to kick off our very first FriendGo community event 🎉. Join us for a refreshing hike at MacRitchie Reservoir to connect, make friends, and enjoy nature together.
*Take note of the small changes to the meeting time. Please RSPV in the form so that we can plan accordingly 🙏


📅 Date: Saturday, 27 September
⏰ Time: 8:00 AM. Hike will start at 8:15 AM.
📍 Meeting Point: Windsor Nature Park Carpark (start of Venus Loop trail)

*Weather Forecast will be done the Day before, any updates will be made known through the telegram channel

We will have 2 Routes and we will separate into 2 groups (BUT if everyone ONZ then all take the harder one la 🔥)

Proposed Route:

Venus Loop

Distance: ~7km
Duration: ~3-4 hours
Route: Windsor Nature Park Carpark → Venus Loop (full) → return to Windsor Carpark

Difficulty: Easy to moderate
Features: Shaded forest trail, peaceful nature walk, and scenic boardwalk sections 🌳

Alternative Route:

Uranus Loop

Distance: ~4 km
Duration: ~2 hours
Route: Windsor Nature Park Carpark → Venus Loop (partial, Terantang trail) → Ranger Station (near Terantang on the map) → return to Windsor Carpark

Difficulty: Easy, beginner-friendly, good for those who prefer a lighter hike or need to leave earlier


Schedule:

8:00 AM – Gather at Windsor Nature Park Carpark (look out for the FriendGo group)

8:15 AM – A brief intro of the team and START HIKE (with small breaks in between)

10:30/11:30 AM (depending on Route) – END HIKE

12:00 pm – Optional Brunch together at Upper Thomson area (TBC) (10–15 min walk away) 🍴

💡 Getting There:

🚇 By MRT:

Alight at Bright Hill MRT (TE7, Thomson-East Coast Line).
Walk ~10–12 mins to Windsor Nature Park Carpark.

🚌 By Bus:

Nearest bus stop Flame Tree Pk/Opp Flame Tree Pk along Upper Thomson Road (before/after Sin Ming Avenue).
Buses: 52, 132, 163, 165, 166, 167, 410, 855, 980.
From bus stop, it’s a 5–7 min walk into Windsor Nature Park Carpark.

🚗 By Car:

Key in “Windsor Nature Park Carpark” on Google Maps.

💡 What to Bring:

Comfortable shoes, water bottle, sunscreen/hat/insect repellent

Light snacks/breakfast if needed
