Current situation as of 8:00, April 12, 2024
Besides the clashes to the west of Avdiivka, Russian troops are advancing on the northern front as well.
▪️ In Novokalynove, the Russian Armed Forces have taken control of several positions to the south of the settlement. The fortified area is under attack from aircraft and artillery, with attempts by the enemy to launch a counterattack.
▪️ Reports also indicate successful actions by the Russian Armed Forces along Stepna Street towards Keramik. The advancement is likely more extensive, but the exact frontline configuration remains unclear.
▪️ Intense battles persist near Berdychi and in the fields to the west of Tonenke. There are unconfirmed reports of the Russian Armed Forces reaching the outskirts of Uman.

Российские войска осуществляют наступление в направлении Верхнекаменского. В районе Белогоровки ведутся бои у мелового карьера, а на линии Выемка — Берестовое происходят обстрелы позиций украинских войск вдоль железнодорожного моста.
Российские войска наступают в микрорайоне Канал, активно используя авиацию и артиллерию для атак на скопления живой силы и техники в Часовом Яру и его окрестностях. Также отмечается минирование местности противником и использование гексакоптеров типа «Баба Яга» на рубеже Андреевка — Курдюмовка.
Продолжаются позиционные бои в районе Крынок, где украинские морпехи удерживают позиции. Российские войска фиксируют учащение обстрелов гражданской инфраструктуры и лесных массивов на левобережье.
Отмечается успешное отражение нескольких контратак вражеских штурмовых групп, улучшение тактического положения на Авдеевском и Купянском направлениях, а также улучшение позиций на Донецком и Южно-Донецком направлениях. Пресечены попытки террористических атак со стороны украины.

The bombardment of Chasov Yar already considerably exceeds that of Bakhmut. Guided bombs have revolutionised the dynamics of the front. Relatively inexpensive bombs which do not require great precision but which allow considerable damage to be done in the area around the impact. This type of weapon has been elemental in destroying the Avdivka defences and remains so for the trench system encountered by the advancing Russian forces. A situation somewhat reminiscent of the Syrian civil war when the air force made use of barrel bombs due to a lack of ammunition. These low-cost bombs were instrumental in destroying rebel positions and paving the way for offensives.
We should not expect a collapse of Ukrainian defences with these guided bombs, but we will see how they will accelerate the advance because of their destructive power (but delivered systematically and not through a general bombing campaign), i.e. locations that in the past were unable to be taken by the Russians are now being taken by Russian Army.

Iran's threat to respond to the targeting of its consulate in Syria has made Israel paralyzed by fear. This is part of today's Israeli media reports about the tense situation in occupied Palestine.
These media announced that the Israeli army has raised the alert level and regular and reserve soldiers from some special units who were planning to travel received a travel cancellation notice. This new order follows the fear of these soldiers being targeted outside the occupied Palestinian territories.
The Israeli regime has closed 28 of its political offices in the world for fear of Iran's punitive response. This regime has also jammed the GPS system in order to disrupt possible attacks and has canceled the leave of its soldiers in combat units.
On the other hand, many Israelis have rushed to the stores to buy essential items and food. This caused some Zionist officials to ask the Israelis to keep calm.

In South Donetsk direction, units of the Vostok Group of Forces improved the tactical situation along the front line and defeated units of seven AFU brigades and National Guard Brigade near Makarovka, Urozhaynoye, and Ugledar (Donetsk People's Republic).
Three counterattacks of AFU 58th motorised infantry and 72nd mechanised brigades' assault groups were repelled near Nikolskoye and Novodonetskoye.
The AFU losses were more than 840 Ukrainian troops, two tanks, two armoured fighting vehicles, 25 motor vehicles, and 11 field artillery guns, including five U.S.-made M777 howitzers.

In Kherson direction, units of the Dnepr Group of Forces inflicted fire damage on manpower and hardware of one mountain assault, three mechanised, one marine, and two territorial defence brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces close to Rabotino, Mirnoye, Stepovoye, Pavlovka (Zaporozhye region), Mikhailovka, and Novotyaginka (Kherson region).

The enemy losses were more than 380 servicemen, three tanks, nine armoured fighting vehicles, and 17 motor vehicles.
In the course of the counter-battery warfare, two combat vehicles of Uragan and Grad MLRS, 28 field artillery guns, four Nota and Bukovel-AD electronic warfare stations, as well as three U.S.-made AN/TPQ-50 counter-battery warfare stations have been hit.
