⚡️A British national who was a member of the Islamic State terrorist group and convicted for his role in taking roughly two dozen Westerners captive a decade ago, resulting in the deaths of four Americans, was sentenced Friday to life in prison.
El Shafee Elsheikh, one of the notorious "Beatles" — a nickname for four Islamic State captors known for their accents and their cruelty — was found guilty in April on charges related to the deaths of the four American hostages: James Foley, Steven Sotloff, Peter Kassig and Kayla Mueller (pictured above, in 2013).
All of the hostages, except Mueller, were executed in videotaped beheadings posted online. Mueller was forced into slavery and raped multiple times by Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi before she was killed.
*Operation Mueller, began October 26, 2019 around 9 a.m EST (00:00 Syria time) and within a day Al-Baghdadi had been terminated. The Special Forces that carried out the Operation, named their taskforce "Task Force 8-14", based on Mueller's birthday.

Washington’s continued support for Kiev during Moscow’s military operation is putting US on the brink of becoming a party to the conflict, Russia’s deputy Foreign Minister, Sergey Ryabkov said Friday.
“We don't want escalation. We’d like to avoid a situation, in which the US becomes a party to the conflict, but so far, we don’t see any readiness of the other side to take these warnings seriously,” Ryabkov told Rossiya 1 TV channel.
“Excuse me, what kind of self-defense is it if they are already openly talking about the possibility of attacking targets deep in the Russian territory, in Crimea?” the deputy FM asked.
Such statements are being made by the Ukrainian side “not just under the blind eye of the US and NATO, but with the encouragement of this kind of sentiment, approaches, plans and ideas directly from Washington,” Ryabkov insisted.

Chinese leader Xi Jinping could travel to Central Asia in September to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit.
According to WSJ sources, Xi’s office indicated this week that he could personally attend the summit, due to take place in the Uzbek city of Samarkand on September 15 and 16.
The office has also begun preparing possible bilateral meetings with Putin, as well as the leaders of Pakistan, India, and Turkey, who are also expected to arrive.

A powerful explosion ripped apart an SUV near Moscow on Saturday night, instantly killing its driver, who according to preliminary reports, was identified as Daria Dugina, the daughter of controversial thinker Alexander Dugin. The incident took place on a highway some 20 kilometers (12 miles) west of Moscow around 21:45 local time, with witnesses saying that the blast rocked the vehicle right in the middle of the roads, scattering debris all around. The US is planning to supply Ukraine with GPS-guided high-precision M982 Excalibur artillery shells, Politico reported, citing a person familiar with the matter.
The shell is equipped with an armor-penetrating warhead and has a laser-guided version. The munitions can be fired using US-made M777 howitzers, which are already being used by Ukrainian troops.
The shells can hit targets at a range of up to 70km, depending on the artillery caliber, according to the manufacturer, Raytheon Technologies. The Excalibur munitions would allow Ukraine to strike targets deep inside Russian-controlled territories.

The head of Ukraine’s security service, the SBU, in Kirovograd Region was found dead in his home on Saturday evening, with sources telling local media that it was likely a suicide.
The body of Aleksandr Nakonechny was found by his wife at their apartment in Krapivnitsky, the main city of Kirovograd Region in central Ukraine.
The SBU has confirmed the security chief's death, saying that the incident is being investigated.
