Expected number of blocks (based on delegation/stake): 5

Blocks Allocated : 8

Blocks Produced : 8

Luck* : 157%

Blocks Predicted for the Next Epoch: 8

A really good epoch for the pool with eight blocks produced on an expectation of five and the next good news is that we have another eight blocks predicted for the next epoch. The random number generator gods have been kind to us so long may it continue.

We are back from our travels so maybe can provide a better update next epoch but for now the pool is running well and we will return with a short update in five days. We hope you have a great next epoch and as always many thanks to you who continue to delegate your valuable ADA with us.

*– Blocks are allocated randomly each epoch based upon total stake a pool has just like a lottery. Luck refers to how many blocks were allocated to a pool against the expected blocks that the pools should produce. Some epochs (5 day periods) you will be allocated more blocks and some less but over time it should even out.

Blocks Predicted for the Next Epoch: 3

Another good epoch with above average returns for delegators with eight blocks produced. For the next epoch we estimate that we have three blocks allocated.

This may be of interest if you haven't seen it - the Cardano Community Digest - which details news from the Cardano community and also has some details to the changes in pool parameters. The minimum cost parameter is interesting as I understand why some people don't like it but at the same time for small pools it helps with operating costs. To run a pool on decent cloud based platforms does costs with three machine required and the RAM and storage requirements increasing as the blockchain increases in size and complexity.

Regarding the pool no major news it is running well and delegation to the pool remains steady so that is good. Have a great five days until the end of the next epoch when we return with a short update.

We produced the three blocks allocated and although this was under the five expected we are rewarded in the next epoch with an outstanding allocation of thirteen blocks on an expectation of five so to all who are delegating this will be a great epoch for us all.

It is less than two weeks to the 2022 Cardano Summit more details here.

Again the pool continues to run really smoothly and we have no major updates to share.

So we look forward to the next epoch and hope to update you in five days with good news that we made all the blocks we have been allocated. Until then have a great five days and thanks for following us in this journey!

Blocks Predicted for the Next Epoch: 3

It was an interesting epoch and we made eleven out of the thirteen blocks we were allocated. What happened to the other two we hear you ask - slot battles we lost :( A slot battle occurs when more than one pool is allocated a particular block/slot which the protocol does on some blocks. So we lost the fist block to BNP and the second was a battle between three pools and we came in second. The way the winning pool is decided seems to have changed recently as before smaller pools had a better chance of winning whereas now it is random. There are discussions if this change is a bug or not going on at present. Still we made eleven blocks which is not too bad.

There is a new Cardano node (the software that runs the blockchain) available and we will upgrade to that this coming epoch so we are up-to-date but other than that the pool is running very well at present.

Nothing else to report so see you all in five days and thanks for staking with us we really appreciate it!

Blocks Predicted for the Next Epoch: 2 :(

We produced all the blocks allocated this epoch which was unfortunately low and for the next epoch we have again got an estimated low allocation of two blocks on an expectation of five. Well we had a good couple of epochs and now we have not, that is just the roll of the dice which is part of the Cardano protocols.

We have upgraded our nodes (two relays, and one block produced) to the latest software 1.35.4 and as usual we will be monitoring extra carefully the next scheduled block to ensure there are no issues with the upgrade. Apart from this the pool is running very well and we have no issues.

For those interested the latest community digest is here.

That's it for now we return in five days.

Our run of low block allocation continues we just hope we get something decent for the next epoch. With the upgraded node we made the two blocks allocated without any problems so that is a good sign it is working properly.

There has been a lot going on in the Cardano community in the last few days with Scotfest and the Cardano Summit which is finishing today. Lots of good announcements and it is exciting to see that Cardano keeps building in the bear market so we will be positioned better for the next bull. There was also an announcement of Midnight a "data protection-based blockchain that safeguards sensitive commercial and personal data" which sounds really interesting and should run as a sidechain on Cardano - more details to come on this later.

That's it for now and we wait in expectation for a better block allocation in the next epoch. Until then have a great few days.

Blocks Predicted for the Next Epoch: 6

All of the allocated/predicted blocks were made and this included us hitting the creation of the 800th block for the pool. We have six blocks allocated for the next epoch which is slightly above expectations.

There has been a lot of positive announcements recently with the summit and Scotfest and some negativity with the news that a couple of projects developing on Cardano have failed (Orbis and Ardana) which you can hear Charles talking about here (tip - to watch YouTube without ads use the brave browser - not that Charles has advertising enabled). This is disappointing but as he says will happen with many projects for differing reasons. Hopefully something can be recovered from these projects and it will be interesting to see how this develops but for sure the Crypto media and others will use this against Cardano. The positive is that Cardano keeps maturing and while I am sure we would all like to see results quicker we should hopefully be in a great position come the next bull market.

Regarding the pool we are happy with the performance currently as we make all the blocks allocated apart from those were there are multiple pools allocated the block where it is random as to who is allocated the block. We will continue through the crypto winter and hope for better days ahead perhaps at the end of 2023 and into 2024.

That's all for this epoch and we will be back at the end of the next. Have a great five days!

Blocks Predicted for the Next Epoch: 6

Not our greatest epoch. We lost a couple of blocks and that always hurts us as much as you. One of them was a slot battle (two pools allocated the same block with a random winner) the other block is a bit more mysterious and we are investigating further. So in total four blocks produced and we have an estimated allocation of six blocks for the next epoch.

The latest community summary is located here with some interesting information about the Cardano project and some information from the recent Summit

We continue to try and optimise the performance of the pool. There are blocks that are missed by the node for example at epoch transition , there is always four to five minutes of lost blocks due to the transition and throughout the epoch blocks can be missed due to the node having a sudden CPU spike or calculations. The goal is to reduce these to the minimum and we are heading in the right direction even with the last epoch. We continue to monitor and to look to improve this metric. We are generally happy with our server provider, it is not cheap but you get what you pay for and we use a server provider that not many others do which we believe helps decentralise the network a bit more as we are not using Amazon/Google like a lot of others.

We have some more delegation and now have a stake of over seven million in the pool which is exciting and this should kick in from the next epoch. As always we welcome new delegators and those who continue to stake with us, it really makes it worth running a stake pool.

That's it for today and we look forward to the next epoch and no more slot battles. Have a great five days and we hope you are getting ready for Christmas and well deserved holidays.

We produced all the six blocks but again we were beaten in a slot battle which can be confirmed here look for block 8108158. It is a shame as our propagation time (the speed the block is transmitted) was quicker 0.21s vs 0.66s and we are on the latest protocol version 8 vs 7 but still lost the block as it is based on a random factor - such is life. For the next epoch we are estimated to have six blocks which is inline with the stake we have allocated to the pool.

Again the pools is running well and not much to do this epoch but in a couple of epochs we will have to renew the KES key which is rotated (regenerated) every 90 days for security purposes.

Not to much else to report - Charles did an AMA which we have not viewed but can be seen here if interested.

We will return in five and until then have a great few days and thanks for sticking with us!

All six blocks were produced this epoch with no slot battles that we know of. For the next epoch we estimate that we will be allocated only three blocks on an expectation of six. Nothing we can do about that as that is the design of Cardano all we can control is to ensure we make as many of the allocated blocks as possible.

The pool continues to run well the only upcoming task is to renew a key on the server and we have scheduled this for the 21st of December after we make the third block.

The latest Cardano community digest can be seen here and outlines what is happening with Cardano currently, well worth a look if you only dip into Cardano news occasionally.

We will be back in five days and until then happy staking!

The pool continues to run smoothly and the KES key rotation that was scheduled for today has been rescheduled for tomorrow 22nd December due to some personnel issues. We will do this before the first block of the epoch is scheduled and then monitor the creation of that block closely to ensure the key rotation was successful.

Nothing much else to report so we will return on the 26th and we wish you all a Merry Christmas and hope you enjoy the holidays and get some well earned rest.

Blocks Predicted for the Next Epoch: 8

We hope you all had a great Christmas with family and friends. This epoch we produced six blocks but lost one due to a slot battle so in the end we have five blocks credited to the pool. For the next epoch we have an estimated eight blocks allocated.

We generated new KES keys which has to be done every three months and as usual after a change like this we kept on eye on the first block scheduled so that we could be sure the keys were working as intended. As with the last time we generated new KES keys the first block was a slot battle (part of the protocol is that multiple pools can be allocated one block and this is randomly decided upon) and initially we thought we had won it but after a few minutes it was clear we had not so we lost that block - this can be confirmed here, just look for the slot battle. Following this we made the remaining five blocks successfully.

As with most we have had some time off to recharge but we are still happy with the performance of the pool and don't worry we are always monitoring and have alerts setup should anything happen. Nothing else to report so we move on towards the next epoch and towards the new year - see you all in five days for a short update.

The pool continues to run well although we may well have to upgrade servers to more memory shortly. We produced all eight blocks allocated and even won a slot battle for once ;) and for the next epoch we have six blocks allocated.

Well it was an interesting epoch with the Cardano stall where some nodes hit an exception and had to reboot meaning the network lost about 20% of the nodes for a few minutes but it self healed and carried on and no transactions were lost although some pools would have missed a few blocks. Charles Hoskinson has put out a few videos to talk about the issue here and here and of course some crypto media hyped the story to say the chain went down etc. Nothing new there!

We continue with our pool happy with it's performance. We had one issue this epoch with a relay losing its accurate time sync which we have resolved and we await the next update to the network in February.

That's all so have a great epoch and see you all in five days!
