Don’t be hasty for the response when you make dua. Be grateful that Allah guided you to make dua and be patient.

‎Shaykh Uthaymeen رحمه الله said,

‎"Do not despair, even if the answer to the Du'a (you made) is delayed. Allah has not commanded you to make Dua except that He wants to answer you.
‎So don't be hasty, wait, and continuously turn to Allah with Du'a.
‎Perhaps Allah delays answering you so that you can make abundant Du'a and as a result, your good deeds increase."

‎[Sharh Riyadh as-Saliheen]

‎Umar ibn Khattab رضي الله عنه said:

‎“I am not worried about whether my dua will be responded to, but rather I am worried about whether I will be able to make dua or not. So if I have been guided to make dua, then I know that the response will come with it.”

‎(Al-Awayishah p. 117)

‎Ibn al-Jawzi said:

‎"I think part of the test is when a believer supplicates and receives no response, and he repeats the dua for a long time and sees no sign of a response. He should realise that this is a test and needs patience."

‎[Sayd ul-Khatir, 59]

‎Be a servant of Allah safeguard your salah and pray on time and obey His commands. Increase your istighfar and earn halal livelihood. Be kind to your parents and siblings don’t cut ties with them. Be a person of tawqa and good character. Uphold the rights Allah has over you. Follow the sunnah of the prophet ﷺ and send plenty salawat upon him. All this will aid your dua to get accepted including guidance.

‎May Allah guide us all to what pleases Him alone.
Abū Bakr said to the Prophet ʿalayhi al-salam, "Teach me a prayer which I can make in my salah." The Prophet ʿalayhi al-salam replied, "Say, ‘O Allah, I have greatly wronged myself, and no one forgives sins except You, so pardon me and forgive me, You are indeed most forgiving and compassionate.’"

Ibn Jama’ah رحمه الله said:

"The student of knowledge should utilise his youth and free time to gain as much as he can, and should not be deceived by the temptation of procrastination. Every hour that passes of his life is crucial and will not be replaced."

Jesus was asked: How can you walk on water?

He replied: Through certainty of faith.

He was told: We too have certain faith!

Jesus asked: Do you believe that stones, mud, and gold are all equal in your sight?
No, they replied.

He said: They’re all the same in my sight.

Isa عليه السلام passed by a group of Jews who insulted him.

Every time they spoke a word of evil, Isa عليه السلام answered with good.

Simon said to him: Will you answer them with good each time they speak evil?

Isa عليه السلام said: Each person spends of what he owns.

The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said:

"Our Rabb, the Blessed, the Superior, comes every night down on the nearest Heaven to us when the last third of the night remains, saying:

"Is there anyone to invoke Me, so that I may respond to invocation?

Is there anyone to ask Me, so that I may grant him his request?

Is there anyone seeking My forgiveness, so that I may forgive him?"

Bukhari
It was said to ‘Āmir ibn ‘Abdillāh:

“Ask forgiveness for me!”

So he said: “Indeed you are asking one who is helpless himself. However, obey Allāh and then call upon Him, then he will respond to you!

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:

“There is no honor for one's soul except with submission (to Allāh),
no glory except with subservience (to Allāh), no comfort except with weariness (for the sake of Allāh), no satiation except with hunger (for the sake of Allāh i.e. fasting), no security except with fear (of Allāh), no pleasure except with feeling alienated from everything but its Creator, and no life except with death.”

[al-Fawā’id | Pg. 106]
Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:

“There is no more glorious objective than having the knowledge of Allāh, His love and company, longing for His meeting and enjoying the sweetness of mentioning His name. This is also the most glorious kind of happiness in the world and the Hereafter; and it is the goal that is sought in its own right.

When the servant leaves this world for the Hereafter, only then does he understands true and perfect happiness. Yet, in the world he cannot reach perfect happiness due to hindrances and tribulations he meets.”

[The Way to Patience & Gratitude | Pg. 190-191]
Al-Imām Ibn al-Qayyim ‎رحمـه الله wrote :

Corruption of religion occurs through either

a) believing falsehood and speaking with it, which is disputing, or
b) acting in opposition to truth and what is correct, and this is taking enjoyment with one’s portion [of the world].

The first are the innovations, and the second is following the [worldly] desire.

These two are the foundation of every evil, tribulation and trial.

Through these two the messengers were disbelieved in, the Lord was disobeyed, Hellfire was entered into, and punishments befell.

The first is from the angle of doubts (الشبهات), and the second is from the angle of desires (الشهوات).

For this reason, the Salaf say: “Beware of two types among the people: A person of desire [meaning, innovation] put to trial by his desire [in religious affairs] and a person of the world whose worldly portion has amazed him [leading him to neglect and disobedience].”

I’lām al-Muwaqqi’īn [2/255].

Translated by Abū Īyād.
ٱللَّهُ لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ رَبُّ ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ ۩‏ ٢٦

˹He is˺ Allah! There is no god ˹worthy of worship˺ except Him, the Lord of the Mighty Throne.”
