💎 Meet GameDev Women Cyprus — a community empowering games industry women across Cyprus and beyond.
Today, our community gets a new name, a new look, and a clearer direction.
We want this channel to become a place where gaming industry women can connect, become more visible, grow their personal brand, share expertise, find opportunities, and support each other along the way. Our motto is simple: Shape. Lead. Inspire.
And if you’re coming to GDCy Fest on May 29, join us for a special Women Connect Hour at 17:00 at the Xsolla tent. We’ll meet over a tea ceremony, slow down for a moment, breathe, talk, and connect in a relaxed atmosphere. This is free of any business agenda, just human connection to reset and recharge.
Come by for a small pause in the middle of a busy event and let’s shape this community together 💜

💎 More visibility. More support. More opportunities.
We're building GameDev Women Cyprus so women in our industry have a space to connect, grow, and become more visible — in Cyprus and beyond.
The goal is simple: more visibility, more support, more opportunities, more women confidently taking space in games and back each other along the way.
This community is for anyone shaping games from a different side — leaders, developers, artists, designers, producers, marketers, founders, business and legal pros, community builders, HR, operations, juniors, middle, or seniors.
What you'll find here:
▫️ We'll spotlight women across the industry — their work, their stories, their wins and the paths that brought them into games.
▫️ We'll share industry news, useful resources, event updates, and the conversations that keep us close to what's happening locally and globally.
▫️ And we'll meet offline — through community gatherings, Women Connect Hours, special activities at industry events, and our annual conference.
If you know someone who should be here — invite them.
Let's build this together! 💜

💎 Women Spotlight: Game Industry Voices & Stories
We’re launching a new series spotlighting women across the games industry — their expertise, stories, ideas, and the paths that brought them here. The goal is simple: more visibility, stronger professional presence, and easier connections inside the Community.
Maria Amirkhanyan, Player Behavior & Product Growth Strategist
▫️ Focus & Expertise
I work at the intersection of player behavior, game UX, and product strategy. My focus is helping game teams understand how players see, feel, understand, choose, stay with or leave a game.
Right now, I focus on indie studios and small teams with strong creative ideas but need support with clarity. I help teams look at their games from the outside: what is immediately clear, what may confuse players, who the game is really for, where the friction is, and what can be improved before bigger decisions are made.
▫️ Which game character best describes you on your career journey?
Arthur Morgan from Red Dead Redemption 2. He is a character with an internal code. He follows other people’s rules for a long time, but eventually starts asking whether those rules still align with his values.
That feels close to my current path. I care about work that is honest, useful and human — not just “doing research/consult” for the sake of process, but helping people make clearer decisions.

Some of the most important games of tomorrow are being built today by tiny teams with no safety net, no massive budget and no guarantee that anyone will notice them. That courage deserves support. I want more people with brave ideas, different voices, and limited access to power to feel seen before the industry decides they are worth seeing.
