🇲🇽 Rare Tornado Spotted in Michoacán, Mexico

🌪️ On Saturday afternoon, residents of Opopeo, in the municipality of Salvador Escalante, Michoacán, witnessed a rare and stunning atmospheric phenomenon — a funnel cloud that many identified as a tornado.

📸 Captured from different angles by local observers, the swirling column — also referred to in the region as a “culebra de agua” (“water snake”) — appeared to take on the structure of a full tornado. While not all funnel clouds reach the ground, the footage strongly suggests this one did.

🌪️ Witnesses have described it as one of the most spectacular tornadoes ever recorded in Mexico. Such phenomena are extremely rare in this part of the country and reflect a growing pattern of unusual weather events likely linked to ongoing climate shifts.
