🌊 On August 1, 2025, a mudflow from the Gerkhojan-Suu River struck the city of Tyrnyauz — the highest-altitude city in Russia. Authorities have initiated an urgent evacuation of residents and tourists from the Elbrus District due to the risk of additional mudflows.

🆘 According to official reports, more than 1,000 people have been evacuated. Temporary shelters have been set up in nearby villages as well as in the Tyrnyauz lyceum.

⚠️ The Ministry of Resorts and Tourism recommends that all travelers with plans to visit the region between August 1 and 3 leave the danger zone immediately.
