Save the hapless fella and don't throw him around again.
How to complete Leave None Alive
To complete this Old Man Gen quest in Phantom Blade Zero, you must return to the Outpost at Weeping Creek Valley and the Thieves’ Camp in Crimson Forest.
In Weeping Creek Valley, you’ll see that everyone has turned hostile, except for Forge--i.e. the blacksmith/weapon upgrades NPC.
Defeat the Bronze Man monk in the Outpost to receive a quest item.
You can go across the bridge that was previously barricaded and guarded by troops.
In the Crimson Forest, it seems that all the NPCs have died, though hostiles still abound. Take them out to receive another quest item.
You can bring these items over to two NPCs in the Village of Lu:
The Wounded Thief NPC near the Smuggler’s Tunnel Entrance rewards you with the Arrowward, an accessory that improves your defense against ranged damage.
The Stately Monk in the Survivors’ Courtyard gives you the Agarwood Prayer Beads, which increase sha-chi recovery if your guard is broken.

How to complete The Journey Home
As for The Journey Home, you have to make it all the way to Pangzhen, the fourth major region in the game. Here’s the gist:
Do the main quest in Pangzhen until you obtain the Flaming Mane Phantom Edge. It allows you to burn vines and brambles that block streets and passageways.
Gain access to the southwestern part of the city, which leads you to the rooftops and cliffside section. Gen’s house, which is marked on the map, is just a short distance away.
Check his home to find that his wife has already died. Retrieve the Dusty Old Wooden Comb.
Return the item to Gen, who’ll become inconsolable. There's nothing you can do for him, so just continue the campaign.

Crimson Manor location - The Weeping Creek Valley and the Mute door
The Phantom Blade Zero Crimson Manor is actually in the first major region: Weeping Creek Valley. Here’s what you need to know:
You must complete a side quest called Deep in the Valley (https://www.gamespot.com/articles/phantom-blade-zero-deep-in-the-valley/). It lets you explore a chunk of the zone, including the lower section of the Sha-Chi Tower.
At the bottom of the Sha-Chi Tower, you’ll notice a Powderkeg enemy that keeps spawning. Stand near the wooden ruins and rubble and lure it toward you. Then, step away before it explodes. The explosion should reveal a lift that takes you down to the depths.
Early on, there’s not much you can do. If you approach the puppet-door--later known as Mute--a notification will simply state that it’s missing its tongue. A side quest even tells you to just “keep exploring.”
Still, you can pick up the Ancient Armor Fragment near a gnarled tree. It’s an accessory that improves damage reduction.

The Herald’s Illusion and the Puppet’s Tongue
Your goal now is to find the Puppet’s Tongue to open the door. But there’s a catch: You must visit three different portals that lead to the Three-Eyed Puppet. This leads to a quest called The Herald’s Illusion.
The first portal
The first portal is in the Village of Lu, specifically in the Puppet Testing Grounds. You reach this area by completing the main quest objectives and descending into the well. Down below, you have to beat a boss named Yuzan, No. 3 Musician Puppet.
In any case, pass through the portal to arrive at a strange realm, one that houses a hanging puppet. Interact with it to learn that each door/portal you access causes the puppet to open one eye.
The second portal
Continue through the campaign until you’re able to visit the Mandate Encampment (https://www.gamespot.com/articles/phantom-blade-zero-mandate-encampment-pillars-of-kunlun/). That’s where you’ll find another portal for the Phantom Blade Zero Herald’s Illusion quest.
Trek across the battlefields until you arrive at the Training Grounds to the north. Then, defeat a boss named Yubi, No. 21 Swordfighter Puppet. This lets you loot a component for the Illusory Pipa. Beyond that, you should see a portal back to the eerie chamber.
The third portal
The third and final portal is in the Mountain of Imprisonment. Do the main objective until you reach the shrine at the summit. Then, defeat the boss, Huangxing, to receive the Flying Guillotine Phantom Edge. The weapon can be used to aid in exploration, as it rotates dials that reveal hidden chambers.
One dial is actually in the very shrine where you battled Huangxing. It opens a path to the depths of the mountain, where you’ll encounter a familiar face. We don’t want to spoil all the details, but this area also has a portal. Go through it and interact with the hanging puppet once more. It will then speak with you, before giving you the Puppet’s Tongue quest item.

What’s inside and below the Crimson Manor?
Now that you have the Puppet’s Tongue, it’s time to enter the Crimson Manor in Phantom Blade Zero.
The library on the second floor has a bunch of books/lore fragments. There’s also Leng Tu's Memory Flower (https://www.gamespot.com/articles/phantom-blade-zero-memory-flower-locations/), the full set of which requires you to visit various regions.
Next, go through the tunnel and gingerly make your way down the chasm. Land on the threads so you don’t take fall damage.
At the bottom, you’ll see a foreboding sight, which leads to a battle against a boss known as the Puppet Scavenger. But that’s not all: Once the monster’s HP reaches 50%, another opponent, Acolyte Hansui, will freeze it.
You have to defeat Hansui, taking care to avoid her ice-based attacks that can also freeze your character. Once Hansui’s dead, you need to finish off the Puppet Scavenger.

Take out this big fella, as well as the frost acolyte that pops up.
This bout grants three notable rewards:
Alloyed Scythe Blade - The Soul Temper item used to modify the Hunter’s Chain Sickle.
Crystal Puppet (Yang) - A special item related to a certain ending.
Hansui’s Frost Mask - One of four key items needed to gain access to a mysterious location.
That does it for our guide on how to enter the Crimson Manor in Phantom Blade Zero. Hansui is just one boss that you need to bring down. You need all four Acolyte Masks (https://www.gamespot.com/articles/phantom-blade-zero-acolyte-masks/) if you want to venture further into another secret area.
