Hurricane Milton and Hurricane Maria Impact in Florida
Dear FUSE Community Members,
On behalf of Florida University Southeast (FUSE), we extend our heartfelt gratitude for your concern, thoughts, and prayers during this challenging time in Florida. Our state has faced the unprecedented challenge of two hurricanes striking just 13 days apart, leaving a significant impact on our communities.
After recovering from the devastating aftermath of Hurricane Hilins, a powerful Category 3 Hurricane Milton made landfall in the western part of the state near Tampa, with sustained wind speeds of 120 miles per hour. The hurricane swept across the entire state, weakening as it moved eastward, but it still caused considerable damage, reaching our area in Boynton Beach.
Our office was closed for a few days as we assessed the situation and began the process of recovery. Thankfully, we are now slowly returning to normal operations, but we remain vigilant as we continue to monitor the effects of these storms on our community.
We appreciate your continued support during this time. Please stay tuned for further updates as we work together to navigate this recovery.

We are truly excited to see the overwhelming response to this program, with over 21,000 participants registered. More than 7,000 of you have already accepted the course invitation, accessed the platform, and begun Module 0. Many have also shared your bios. Excellent work and thank you for your engagement.
To support all participants and ensure a smooth onboarding experience, we have scheduled three Virtual Town Hall (Open House) sessions. These sessions will guide you step-by-step on how to access the course, navigate the Learning Management System (LMS), and prepare for the program.

Today, Florida University Southeast School of Professional Studies (FUSE-SPS), in partnership with Hope for Special Education, proudly awarded certificates in the Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Evidence-Based Practice program to an incredible group of graduates. โSchool teachers, therapists, parents, caregivers, and policy advocates completed two rounds of intensive training, supported by practical observations. These graduates will play a vital role in communities across Africa and the Middle East, where open discussion about autism is still emerging and often shaped by cultural barriers.
