🏳️‍⚧️ We see you

Today's Trans Visibility Day is a crucial for the LGBTQIA+ community as a whole, especially during a time when we are facing division from both outside and within. We confirm our commitment to promote unconditional love, acceptance, and support for transgender people - every step of their journey, no matter what that is for them. Each transition is valid.

With many of our team members being part of the trans community, we're dedicated to creating spaces that are truly inclusive and welcoming to all trans individuals. Supporting trans rights isn't just something we do on the side - it's a core part of who we are and what we're working towards.

To many transgender people that support us, we want to thank you. Without you, there would have been no FUR/HELP.

There are no human rights without trans rights.

Embrace the Ace

🖤 Today is Asexuality Day, a day for aces (that's what asexuals often call themselves) to chat about what it means to be ace, bust myths, and most importantly, share their personal experiences.

🩶 Asexuality is just as legit as any other sexuality, and it's different for everyone. Some asexual people might feel romantic attraction or some sexual attraction, while others don't. Like any personal preference or boundary, it deserves respect, not scrutiny.

🤍 Just like any other sexuality, it is not a "phase" and not "fake".

💜 At FUR/HELP, we stand strong in support for all aces, to uplift and celebrate aces across the world.

While trans and gender diverse people suffer from discrimination and hate speech worldwide, as the American trans people suffer persecution, the UK government decides to also hurt its trans people, clearly inspired by the US.

The decision by the UK Supreme Court to exclude trans women from legal protections under equality laws is absolutely abhorrent, none of this is justified and aims to break LGBTQIA community and solidarity, yet would never succeed. FUR/HELP joins in solidarity with British trans and gender diverse people, as we can't be silent. We see you, we hear you, and we fight alongside you.

Everyone deserve a right for a life without discrimination no matter where they come from.

26 April — Lesbian Visibility Day & Week 🧡🤍🩷

Lesbians, seen as a ray of sunshine in the LGBTQIA+ community, greatly contribute to queer healthcare and intersectional feminism and more.

We also remind you that transbians and non-binary lesbians exist, all valid, and we stand with all lesbians.

We have received news that Germany has invoked measures, corresponding to the Article 72 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, and thus has de facto stopped reception of asylum seeker claims at the German borders.

Here at FUR/HELP, we consider this action to be inhumane, as it denies rights to asylum as should be guaranteed by the Article 18 and Article 19 of the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights. We condone the actions of the new chancellor Friedrich Merz and call for immediate rollback of such decision. We don't see a plausible cause for such measures to be enacted, and see this decision as a populistic short-sighted move.

We continue our commitment to asylum seeker rights, after this action we are working to develop a plan that would oversee such drastic measures by an EU country.

This IDAHOBIT, we should remember one simple thing. We have progressed quite a bit, despite how it may seem. While it's not time to slow down yet, we are stronger day by day.

Even in the darkest moments, as in Hungary's outrageous pride ban, Georgia's crackdown on LGBTQIA+ rights, UK's massive middle finger to trans people, we must remember that we would always exist, we would always be there for each other, we would never stop existing.

Today is the Pansexual & Panromantic Day -- a day for all Pan people to be celebrated and recognized in their truthful and valid feelings and experiences.

💗 Pansexual or Panromantic is the sexual, romantic or emotional attraction to people of all genders, regardless of what they identify. Pan in the word means "all", signifying attraction beyond gender.

💛 While both pansexuality and bisexuality involve attraction to multiple genders, they are separate valid identities that have their own meaning and significance, not to be confused with one another.

💙 While pansexuality means attraction to all, it doesn't necessarily mean attracted to everyone. It's more about potential for attraction for all genders, gender being not a determining factor for in attraction.

FUR/HELP continues its unwavering support for Pan people, as well as each identity of LGBTQIA+. We stand with Pan people. Pan people matter, and Pan people are valid.

Refugee rights are human rights

Today, as many refugees face adversity and discrimination, just based on the fact they had to flee to preserve themselves. We believe it's important to highlight refugee voices and support refugees on their journey to safety.

FUR/HELP stands strong with refugees worldwide and works to advance refugee rights worldwide. We believe that true human rights are only possible when the most discriminated and marginalized among us are granted the rights they deserve. Human rights are for all. We are also committed to providing more aid to refugees under our care and helping every refugee reach safety.

To refugees that see this, that had to flee their homes:
You are not alone.
Your courage and resilience are outstanding.
You deserve safety. You deserve rights. Deserve to be treated with respect and dignity.

We would forever stand with you.

Pride is never over, however it is time to celebrate the Disability Pride. Each July we gather to celebrate the courage of disabled people, that fight for their rights, for their visibility and for their voices to be heard.

Each disability is valid, even if it's not apparent, even if it's not diagnosed or visible.

In solidarity, FUR/HELP changes its logo to showcase a Disability Pride flag, as we did, the last Disability Pride. For the whole month.

Designed by Ann Magill in 2019, each color on the flag holds special meaning for people with disabilities:
Red symbolizes physical disabilities.
Yellow represents cognitive and intellectual disabilities.
White stands for undiagnosed and hidden disabilities.
Blue signifies mental health disabilities.
Green is for sensory disabilities.
Black honors those with disabilities who have passed away due to illness, negligence, suicide, or eugenics.

We stand with each disabled person, for their rights, dignity, and freedom.

Non-binary isn't a third gender. It's much more.

Today, let us honor the strength and courage of non-binary and trans people fighting for their freedom in different parts of our world.

Non-binary identity stands on its own, a valid and important part of the diverse LGBTQIA+ community. Each non-binary person has the right to choose their relationship to the transgender umbrella.

FUR/HELP stands firmly in support of non-binary rights and would always do everything for inclusion of non-binary people.

1037 years ago, today, Knyaz Volodymyr the Great has made fundamentals of what we know as Ukraine. As we have for all of our journey, we stand with LGBTQIA+ Ukrainians that not only fled their home and face adversity. But those that also protect Ukraine currently, with an LGBTQIA flag on their shoulder.

UKR:

❗️EMERGENCY: The scandalous draft law #12414, that defacto strips anti-corruption branches of Ukrainian government of independence was signed into power by Volodymyr Zelenskyy. FUR/HELP as a non-profit with heavy Ukrainian heritage stands against such acts against freedom. We would provide a full statement slightly later. We stand in support with protestors.

FUR/HELP stands firmly in support of Ukrainian people and their unwavering commitment to fair and democratic Ukraine. Ukraine where anti-corruption bodies are independent, where journalists can work without fear of persecution. We join them in protest and call for the international community to apply pressure on the Ukrainian government to veto this law, as it directly undermines democracy and rule of law.

Independence lives in people. Today, marks the day of a nation that chose freedom through courage — through the lives of millions who stand together to defend it, to fight for it.

From Lviv to Luhansk, Ukraine's story is one of unbroken spirit: building a future amid rocket strikes, finding solidarity even in extreme adversity. It’s in heroes like David Chychkan — who fought not just for Ukrainians, but for solidarity and equality across all Ukraine, and in every person who has fought or stood up for Ukraine, whether fighting before or now, supporting it from afar, or activists defending rights in Ukraine.

FUR/HELP stands with Ukraine. We were there at the beginning of our journey, we stand now, and we will always stand.

As well as this announcement, we are preparing a huge overhaul for our website. Stay tuned for more news later this week.

Today, we celebrate Bisexual Awareness Day and the end of Bisexual Awareness Week. Though it has existed since the ancient times and officially recognized at the end of the 19th century, bisexuality often is condemned and discriminated against.

Even now, bisexual people face misunderstanding of both heteronormative society and the LGBTQIA+ community itself. Such 'friendly fire' makes it difficult for bisexual people to find safe and understanding surroundings.

Today we want to remind everyone, that:
💖 Bisexuality is not a phase or a stepping stone — it's a complete and valid identity.
💜Bisexual people are as good at maintaining log-term relationships as people of any other orientations;
💙 Your bisexuality is valid regardless of who you were with and who you will be with.
❗️ Biphobia and bi-erasure are real challenges our community faces — we're here to support you and amplify your voice.

FUR/HELP strongly stands for advocating bisexual rights and supports cultural acceptance of the bisexual community.
