🚨 IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING FURGETHER 2026
Major changes are coming. Many of you have asked whether last year might have been the final Furgether. The honest answer is: we don’t know. We will find out sometime between Wednesday and Sunday, September 16–20, 2026.
Unfortunately, our world is often shaped by ingratitude and taking things for granted. We wanted to raise awareness that there could always be a last Furgether, whether due to internal or external reasons. No one can predict that. So please keep in mind that this convention is not guaranteed forever, and it may not always continue as it is now.
Due to ongoing changes and challenges that become clearer each year, there is a fundamental adjustment:
Furgether will now end on Sunday. Participant departure is therefore on Sunday. In the past, the team and a few very dedicated helpers did their best on Monday, usually dealing with stressful chaos that was left behind. This is no longer sustainable.
In the future, we will also look more closely at registered participants and those who have attended before. We will act more consistently toward people who do not align with the future vision of Furgether and will exclude them. There are plenty of people who truly appreciate this convention and understand what it stands for. We will not let a few unsuitable participants ruin the experience for everyone else.
A major change concerns the bar area of Furgether. Last year opened our eyes and reminded us where we actually want to go. The days at the bar with no music or at most soft lounge music were, for me personally, the most beautiful I have ever experienced at Furgether. This is what we want to focus on in the future.
There will be no more party music at the bar. Furgether is not a drinking club. If your main interest is getting drunk with the next round of drinks, you will be disappointed going forward. (Speaking personally: there are plenty of alternatives if you are only looking for partying and drinking.) I am not sad about this change, many nice people turned away from us in recent years because of how things developed, which was understandable. I hope some of them may rediscover the old spirit of Furgether and return.
I firmly believe that a Furgether focused on cozy togetherness and enjoying nature (unless another natural disaster hits) will resonate more and work better for everyone.
No one deserves stress or negative experiences at a convention. We are all part of this project. Therefore, it is only fair to consistently exclude those who go against this direction.
To end on a positive note:
Furgether will be extended by one day. It will now start on Thursday, with an optional early arrival day on Wednesday.
For a good new year and an even better Furgether 2026.

Inspired by legendary Austrian company traditions, boundless optimism, and an unwavering trust in the unpredictable forces of nature, we proudly present: the Furgether Snow Bet. One event. One bet. One dream of precipitation.
If it actually snows on any event day, every participant will receive:
🚿 A hot shower
(strictly limited – only while warm water exists)
☕️ A free hot beverage
(tea, coffee, or “Hot Surprise Water”)
📜 A certificate: “I survived the snow”
Perfect for job applications, living room walls, and heated climate-change debates.
How does it work?
We have appointed an official Snow Commissioner. A person willing to heroically face the sky. A person brave enough to stare at clouds for hours. A person who holds the fate of the entire convention in their hands.
The Snow Commissioner will observe the sky, observe the ground, observe the air in between, and, if necessary, observe themselves. Just to be absolutely sure.
📏 Snowflake Regulations
(because we take this seriously – well, halfway)
§1 – Definition of a Snowflake
A snowflake is a naturally occurring frozen water structure that originates from a cloud, is not thrown by a participant, does not come from a freezer, does not fall out of a drink compartment, and is not shaken out of a fursuit.
§2 – Ground Contact
A snowflake only counts as “snow” if it touches the ground, remains recognizable as a flake, does not evaporate beforehand, does not melt beforehand, and is not caught, eaten, or scientifically examined by a participant beforehand.
Flakes that exist in the air but never reach the ground are considered “hoverflakes”, “atmospheric decoration”, or “nice try”. These do not count.
§3 – Minimum Quantity
At least one (1) flake must reach the ground. Half a flake does not count. Two half-flakes also do not count. A flake that splits upon impact still counts as one flake.
§4 – Exclusion of Digital Snow
The following are not recognized: animated snowflakes, screensaver snow, phone-filter snow, PowerPoint snow, clipart snow, and snow drawn, described, or emotionally visualized by participants.

The core concept is simple: everyone contributes their part so that everyone can have fun. And yes, the staff members enjoy the con as well. This principle is a central pillar of our community and has worked wonderfully for years. If you’re unsure or think it might not be for you, let yourself be convinced otherwise. Just drop by, it doesn’t cost a fortune.
For everyone who feels alone or doesn’t know anyone
Maybe you don’t dare to attend the con alone because you don’t know anyone. That doesn’t matter here. Furgether is a place where you’ll quickly find connection. Whether you come alone or already know people.
If you’re unsure or don’t know anyone, I’m personally available for you. Message me on Telegram and I’ll answer all your questions as best I can. For everyone attending for the first time, I offer a personal guided tour of the Furgether grounds upon request.
You won’t be sitting alone in a corner
Don’t worry about being overlooked or that no one will talk to you. Our basic attitude is to actively approach people. If you need someone, there will always be someone there for you. We look out for each other and create an atmosphere where everyone can feel comfortable.

Furdance, panels, and your own ideas
On Friday we host our Furdance, and we’re always looking for DJs. If you have an idea for your own small panel or activity, whether you want to present something or simply plan something, that’s no problem at Furgether. Furgether thrives on many self-organized panels from our participants. That’s exactly what makes the weekend so special.

Don’t worry about being overlooked or that no one will talk to you. Our basic attitude is to actively approach people. If you need someone, there will always be someone there for you. We look out for each other and create an atmosphere where everyone can feel comfortable.

Bring your interest, bring yourself
Everyone is welcome to contribute with their hobby and interests if they want to. Did you know that the Dealers Den is completely free for you as an exhibitor? We have no interest in earning money from your work or your time. Mutual appreciation is our priority. Show the community what you love doing.
Furdance, panels, and your own ideas
On Friday we host our Furdance, and we’re always looking for DJs. If you have an idea for your own small panel or activity, whether you want to present something or simply plan something, that’s no problem at Furgether. Furgether thrives on many self-organized panels from our participants. That’s exactly what makes the weekend so special.
