Background:
Welthungerhilfe is a private, non-profit-making, politically independent and non-denominational organization that supports people
living in deprivation and poverty, irrespective of the color of their skin, their religious beliefs or their worldview. WHH is working in the
fields of development cooperation and humanitarian aid, relief aid, rehabilitation and reconstruction.
Overall Role:
The MEAL Officer will be in charge of monitoring all activities across the project activities in Azaz area; this includes keeping track of
assessment updates and oversight of field enumerators, project target numbers, data desegregation and data accuracy, and
beneficiary information, to ensure the project is implemented towards stated objectives and indicators. In line with Accountability to
Affected Populations (AAP), he/she also proactively develops and manages feedback and complaints mechanisms according to the
local circumstances of the project. He/she will report to the HoP or other assigned staff in the project and the MEAL unit in Gaziantep.
The tasks of the MEAL Officer are:
• Conduct field monitoring and process documentation through data collection, gathering information from communities
regarding FSL and the project. Familiarity with agricultural projects is an asset.
• Conduct multisectoral assessment as required for this or other projects and equip the organization with adequate information
to make decisions.
• Conduct data analysis, reporting and highlighting weak areas during project implementation.
• Highlight weak areas in project implementation and propose recommendations to address these weak areas.
• The monitoring officer is expected to report on the effectivity, efficiency and the perception of pre harvesting and post
harvesting reports.
Required Qualifications:
• Position open to Syrian nationals
• Education: - A Diploma/bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from a recognized university
• Work Experience: minimum one-year professional experience in a similar position, preferably in a non-profit organization
• Skills/knowledge:
- Experience in conducting interviews/assessments
- Knowledge of common computer programs, particularly MS Excel and MS Word
- Experience working in unsecure and remote locations and reporting to remotely located management
• Social Skills; Ability to network and work in a team.
• Language Skills: English and Arabic required (written & spoken) Turkish is an asset.
The MEAL Officer will be obliged to maintain confidentiality regarding all information obtained in the course of his/her work during
the employment at Welthungerhilfe and thereafter.
