BENEFIT 64: The Throne ('Arsh) is the highest of Allāh's creation:
It was narrated that Ibn Mas’ūd radhiyallāhu 'anhu said:
“Between the first heaven and the one above it is (a distance of) five hundred years. And between each of the heavens is (a distance of) five hundred years. Between the seventh heaven and the Kursi (footstool) is (a distance of) five hundred years. Between the Kursi and the water is (a distance of) five hundred years. The Throne is above the water and Allāh is above the Throne, and nothing whatsoever of your deeds is hidden from Him.”
[narrated by Ibn Khuzaymah in At-Tawḥīd & Bayhaqi in Al-Asmā' Waṣ-Ṣifāt; it was classed as 'Ṣaḥīḥ' by Ibnul Qayyim in Ijtimā’ al-Juyūsh Al-Islāmiyah & by Adh-Dhahabi in Al-‘Uluw]
Sheikh ‘Uthaymeen raḥimahullāh said:
“This ḥadīth stops at Ibn Mas’ūd (mawqūf), but this is one of the matters concerning which there is no room for personal opinion, so it comes under the heading of marfū’ [a ḥadīth whose chain of narration goes back to the Prophet ﷺ], because Ibn Mas’ūd is not known to have taken anything from the Isrā'īliyyāt [reports derived from Jewish sources].”
[Al-Qawul Mufīd Sharḥ Kitāb At-Tawḥīd]
Ibn Kathīr raḥimahullāh said:
“He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne which is the roof of creation. All created things, the heavens and the earth and all that is in them and in between them are beneath the Throne of Allah... ”
[Tafsīr Ibn Kathīr (Sūrah At-Tawbah 129)]
The Throne is the roof of creation based on the ḥadīth of Hurairah radhiyallāhu anhu, that the Prophet (ﷺ) said, “There are one-hundred degrees in Paradise which Allah has prepared for those who carry on Jihad in His Cause. The distance between every two degrees is like the distance between the sky and the Earth, so if you ask Allah for anything, ask Him for Firdaus, for it is the last part of Paradise and the highest part of Paradise, and at its top there is the Throne of Beneficent, and from it gush forth the rivers of Paradise.”
[Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhāri 7423]

فمَنْ لم يَسْتعملْ نفسَه و مالَه في عبادةِ الله اسْتعملها بغير اختيارهِ في طاعةِ الشّيطان؛ إذ كان لابُدّ لها- أي النَّفْسُ- مِنْ عَملٍ، و لابُدّ للمال مِن مَصْرفٍ.

From the rights of the husband and wife at the time of the marriage contract is that the woman is easygoing with the dowry, without exaggeration, and not burdening the husband with more than he can handle. That is because one of the reasons for saʿādah (ie: happiness) among the spouses is that the husband is not burdened with debts and the worries that come with them, and that the man does not feel that this woman whom he lives with under one roof is the reason for him bearing worries that he is not accustomed to and he does not have the ability to handle.

الشيخ سليمان الرحيلي حفظه الله:
من حق الزوجين عند عقد النكاح أن تكون المرأة ميسّرة المهر بلا مُغالاة ولا تحميلٍ للزوج فوق ما يطيق. لأن من أسباب سعادة الزوجين ألا يكون الزوج محمّلا بالديون وهمومها وألا يشعر الرجل أن هذه المرأة التي يعيش معها تحت سقف واحد كانت سببا في تحميله هموما لا عهد له بها، ولا طاقة له بها.

Causing Dissension Between People Is Similar To Magic
Ibn Muflih, may Allaah have mercy upon him:
"Abul-Khattaab ['Uyuun Al-Masaail], said, 'carrying tales and causing dissension between people is a type of magic.' These words can be understood when one realises that, by doing this, a person surreptitiously wants to cause harm by his words and acts, and as such it resembles magic. This is why we have seen in practice that tale carrying causes the same sort of results as magic does, sometimes even worse."
