Why The Chains Of Narration?

On authority of (Muhammad) Ibn Sireen, may Allaah have mercy upon him, that he said:

"They would not ask about the chains of narration, and when the fitnah occurred, they said: 'name for us your men.' So the people of the Sunnah would be regarded, and their Hadeeth were taken, and the people of innovation would be regarded, and their Hadeeth were not taken."

[Introduction Of Saheeh Muslim, No. 27]

It is reported that 'Abdullaah Ibn Mubaarak, may Allaah have mercy upon him, said:

"The chains of narration are from the religion, and if it wasn't for the chains of narration then whoever could say whatever they wished."

[Introduction Of Saheeh Muslim, No. 32]

Muhammad Ibn Sireen, may Allaah have mercy upon him, said:

"Indeed this knowledge is religion, so look to whom you take your religion from."

Do Not Decorate Yourself With Knowledge!

It is reported that Habeeb Ibn 'Ubayd – may Allaah have mercy upon him – said:

"Learn knowledge, understand it and benefit from it (live by it); and do not study it in order to decorate yourself with it, for if you live long you will likely see a time when knowledge will be used for beautification like a man beautifies himself with his garments."

[Ibnul-Mubaarak, Az-Zuhd War-Raqaaʾiq, No 1056]

Urging towards Sadaqah

This is a clip taken from a lesson of our noble shaykh Abu Bilaal Al Hadhrami, may Allaah preserve him. This dars took place after the Asar prayer on the 11th of Dhul Qi'dah 1442 corresponding to the 21st June 2021 in Daarul Hadeeth as Salafiyyah, Masjid Anwar in Haami, Hadramout, Yemen.

The shaykh gave some beautiful words about urging towards saqadah when entering the chapter of sadaqah from the book Kitaabuz Zuhd by Imaam Abdullaah ibnul Mubaarak

I highly encourage to listen to this audio clip, to act upon that which is mentioned and to spread it to family and friends in Shaa Allaah

Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali [Rahimahullah Ta’ala] said:

“The voluntary prayers/acts [performed] in the ten days of Dhul Hijjah are better than the voluntary prayers/acts [performed] in the [last] ten days of Ramadan. Similarly, the obligatory prayers/acts [performed] in the ten days of Dhul Hijjah are multiplied more than they are multiplied in the days other than them.”

[Fath ul Baari sharh Sahih al-Bukhari (# 9)]

Dhul-Ḥijjah is the twelfth and final month of the year, and the first 10 days of Dhul-Ḥijjah are the best 'days' of the year!

This year, Dhul-Ḥijjah will start at Maghrib on the 10th of July 2021

Ibn ‘Abbās raḍhiyallāhu ‘anhumā reported: The Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) said:

“There are no days during which the righteous action is more pleasing to Allāh than these days (i.e., the first ten days of Dhul-Ḥijjah)." He was asked: "O Messenger of Allāh, not even Jihad in the Cause of Allāh?" He (ﷺ) replied, "Not even Jihad in the Cause of Allāh, except in case one goes forth with his life and his property and does not return with either of it.”

[Al-Bukhāri ]

Ibn Ḥajar raḥimahullāh commented:
“It seems the reason why the ten days of Dhul-Ḥijjah are superior (to all other days) is the fact that this is the (only) time wherein the mother acts of worship are gathered - i.e. prayer, fasting, charity, and ḥajj; which is not possible at any other time.” [Fat-ḥul Bāri]

So I advise myself and you all to:

- desist from evil deeds
- increase in good deeds
- fulfil all obligations
- perform as many voluntary acts as possible
- recite as much Qur'an as possible
- remember Allāh much
- fast throughout these upcoming days if possible. If not, make extra effort to fast the 9th of Dhul-ḥijjah.
- give charity
- enjoin good
- forbid evil
- teach & propagate beneficial knowledge
- offer a sacrifice (goat, cow or camel) on behalf of your household if you are able.

May Allāh forgive our shortcomings, accept our deeds and grant us a good end.
