Sign of deviation – To approve what you use to disapprove and to disapprove what you use to approve
So what is the sign of deviation? (Shaykh was asking the students in class)
Hudaifah (رضي الله عنه) said, (the sign of deviation is): “To approve what you use to disapprove and to disapprove what you use to approve”.
This a very clear sign, so if you want to know the deviation of a person apply this principle on him, what he used to say earlier and what he is saying now? immediately you will know. If you see these people of banateel (who permit wearing the pants) who say fulaan has permitted this, you know that he has deviated. You (addressing some maftoon who permit wearing pants) did not used to permit this and you used to refute the Ikhwan-ul-Muslimeen by saying to them: “Why you refute us by saying so and so permitted this? Why are you not saying Allah said such and His Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said such?” Now, you search for the excuses. This is the methodology of Ikhwan-ul-Muslimeen. And Allah will destroy them like how He destroyed the Ikhwan-ul-Muslimeen.
And we are free from these kind of people who are eating away salafiyyah. Wearing pants used to be haram and now, when we entered it, became halal ! Say that, “We want the saudi riyaals” and don’t cheat these young people. That is what tempted them, so they say fulaan permitted this and you are not worried about the fatwa. The mufti (for these people) is saudi riyaals, that is a reliable mufti. We ask Allah to save us from these kind of people and their trials.
Oh Salafiyyun .. stick to the truth even if it is against to you
Oh Salafiyyuun, be content with the path that we are upon (seeking knowledge and staying away from prohibitions), Insha Allah we live on that and we die on that. By Allah, if this (the salafiyyah) is not the truth then there is no truth on the earth. This is The Religion of Allah. Is the truth with the Soofiyyah ? Or with the Rafidah ? Or with the Ikhwan-ul-Muslimeen ? or with the hizbiyyin ? It could be that some groups have some truth with them, but the foundation of the truth is with people of truth and they are the source of the truth. And they know from where to take the truth. As for the people of innovations, they might accidentally follow the truth and they follow some part of the truth because it is suitable for their desires. As for the people of truth, they stick to truth what is for them and what is against them, not because it suited their wishes and desires, but they stick to the truth as a slavery to Allah.
What an evil thing that they did! making a salafi as hizbi or making a salafi as mamsookh (deformed one).
(A student has written a benefit to shaykh, he read out).
‘Whoever takes the rare issues (mistakes) of the ulama have left the religion’. So who ever searchs for various excuses mentioned by various scholars then he becomes a zindeeq (who left the religion).
Al Imam Dhahabi has said, “whoever searchs for excuses of various madhaahib and mistakes of the scholars of Ijtihaad, his deen will become weak’. Oh brother, take the truth whether it is for you or against you. Leave this playing with the deen. This shows the desire (of these people).

Breaking The Fast With An Odd Number Of Dates
1st Hadīth: Abu Ya'alā reported in his Musnad (3305) from the hadīth of Anas bin Mālik - may Allāh be pleased with him - said that the Prophet - salal-Āllahu ‘alahi wa salam - used to like to break his fast with three dates or something which was not cooked.
Note: In the chain of narration of the hadīth is Abdul-Wāhid bin Thābit. Al-Bukhāri said about him ‘Munkar al-ahādīth’ (his narrations are rejected).
Al-Imām al-Albānī also declared the hadīth extremely weak in as-Silsilah adh-Dhaīfah, hadīth numb. (966).
2nd Hadīth: Abu Bakr ash-Shāfi'ī reported in his Fawāid (1/105), from Jābir - may Allāh be pleased with him -said that he - salal-Āllahu ‘alahi wa salam - used to like to break his fast on fresh dates so long as they were there, and upon dried dates if there were no fresh dates. And he would (also have dates) after a meal and would eat them in odds; three or five or seven.
Note: In the chain of narration there is al-Farāzī, who is Muhammad bin Ubaidillāh. Al-Imām Ahmed said about him ‘the people (of hadīth) abandoned his narrations’.
Al-Imām al-Albanī declared the hadīth also extremely weak in his book as-Silsilah adh-Dhaīfah, hadīth numb. (1749).
The noble Shaykh Muhammad bin Sālih al-Uthaymīn - may Allāh have mercy on him - was asked:
I have heard that the fasting person at the time he breaks his fast must break his fast with an odd number of dates i.e. five or seven dates and so on. So, is this an obligation?
He responded:
This is not an obligation, in fact it is not a Sunnah for a person to break there fast with an odd number; three, five, seven, nine except on the day of ‘Eid, ‘Eid ul-Fitr. For it is established the Prophet - salal-Āllahu ‘alahi wa salam - never proceeded for the prayer on the Day of ‘Eid-ul-Fitr unless he had eaten some dates. He would eat an odd number of dates. And besides this, then indeed the Prophet - salal-Āllahu ‘alahi wa salam - did not used to intend that his eating of dates be in odd numbers.

Easy Guideline by the Scholars on How to Pay Zakaat Through Modern Currency - Abu Fajr AbdulFattaah bin Uthman

*A Must Read❗*
*When should we look out for Laylatul Qadr❓*
Shaykhul Islam Ibn Taymiyyah - رحمه الله - was asked this very question while in captivity in the year 706 Hijri...
...To which He responded:
*Laylatul Qadr occurs during the last ten (nights) of Ramadhan*. This is what is authentically established from the Prophet ﷺ, that he ﷺ said:
((تَحَرَّوْا لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ فِي الْعَشْرِ الأَوَاخِرِ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ)).
"Look out for Laylatul Qadr during the last ten nights of Ramadhan."
[Hadeeth Aishah : Bukhari & Muslim]
And In the version of Bukhari, he ﷺ said:
((تَحَرَّوْا لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ فِي الْوِتْرِ مِنَ الْعَشْرِ الأَوَاخِرِ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ)).
"Look out for Laylatul Qadr *during the odd nights* of the last ten nights of Ramadhan."
▫However, it is important to note that *there are two ways of calculating the odd nights:*
*THE FIRST:*
*By counting the days that have already passed*; such that Laytul Qadr could fall on the 21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th, or the 29th night of Ramadhan.
or
*THE SECOND:*
*By counting the days that remain*, just as the Prophet ﷺ said:
((الْتَمِسُوهَا فِي الْعَشْرِ الأَوَاخِرِ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ فِي تَاسِعَةٍ تَبْقَى، فِي سَابِعَةٍ تَبْقَى، فِي خَامِسَةٍ تَبْقَى)).
"Look out for the Laylatul Qadr during the last ten nights of Ramadhan, *on the night when nine or seven or five nights remain* (out of the last ten nights of Ramadan)."
[Hadeeth Ibn Abbas : Bukhari]
*This means that if Ramadhan was 30 days - and only Allah knows if this will be the case - Laylatul Qadr will fall on one of the even nights*, because the 22nd will be the night when nine remain, the 24th will be when seven remains and the 26th will be when five remains.
This is the understanding of Abu Sa`eed Al-Khudri
Muslim reported that Abu-un-Nadhr enquired:
"O Aba Sa'id, you know more than us about (these) numbers. He said: Yes, indeed we have better right than you. I said: What is this ninth, seventh, and fifth? He said: *When 21 (nights are over) and the 22nd begins, it is the ninth, and when 23 (nights) are over, that which follows (I.e. The 24th) is the seventh, and when 25 nights are over, what follows it (I.e. The 26th) is fifth".*
If, however, Ramadhan consists of 29 days, these two forms of calculations will be exactly the same.
*This being the case, it is befitting that the Believer works hard throughout the last ten nights of Ramadhan*, just as the prophet ﷺ said:
((تَحَرَّوْا لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ فِي الْعَشْرِ الأَوَاخِرِ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ))
"Look out for Laylatul Qadr during the last ten nights of Ramadhan."
[Hadith Aisha : Bukhari & Muslim]
This is also proven by the practice of the prophet ﷺ, just as Aisha رضي الله عنها said:
كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِذَا دَخَلَ الْعَشْرُ - أي العشر الأواخر من رمضان - شَدَّ مِئْزَرَهُ، وَأَحْيَا لَيْلَهُ، وَأَيْقَظَ أَهْلَهُ.
"With the start of the last ten days of Ramadan, the Prophet ﷺ used to tighten his waist belt (i.e. work hard) and used to pray all the night, and he would also wake his wives."
