The Fruits Of Knowledge
The odour of a fasting person's mouth is more fragrant to Allah than what?
The Prophet (salah allahu ‘alayhi wa salam) said: "By Him in Whose Hands my soul is, the smell coming out from the mouth of a fasting person is better in the sight of Allah than the smell of musk."

[Al-Bukhari]

Ibn Hajr mentioned:

"And Qadhi Hussein narrated in his commentary that (acts of) worships on the Day of Resurrection will have fragrant smells and the smell of fasting in between the other worships will be that of musk."

[Fath Al-Bari, 4/106]

Ibn 'Abdul-Barr said:

"The meaning ... is that it is purer to Allah and closer to Him, and better to Him than the smell of musk, and this is a virtue of fasting and the reward of those who fast."

[At-Tamheed 19/57]

- Al-Baghawi said in Sharh Al-Sunnah:

“Means to be a complement to the fasting person and the pleasure (of Allah) for his deed.”

*Ramadan Day 8*

When was fasting in Ramadan obligated?
Ramadan was made obligatory for the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) in 2 AH, which was the first Ramadan that he fasted, and the Muslims fasted it with him. This was the same year in which the Battle of Badr took place.

Did the Sahaabah (may Allah be pleased with them) fast on the day of Badr?

Al-Haafiz Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali (may Allah have mercy on him) stated: "...the Prophet (peace be upon him) went out in pursuit of a caravan of Quraysh that had come from Syria heading towards Madinah, on the Saturday 12th of Ramadan, and he broke his fast on his way to meet it. Ibn al-Musayyab said : ‘Umar said: We went out on two campaigns with the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) in Ramadan, the day of Badr and the conquest (of Makkah), and we broke the fast during both."

On what night did the Prophet (ﷺ) first receive Revelation?
From Allaah the Qur’aan descended from the Protected Tablet (al-Lawh al-Mahfooth) on which it was written to the lowest heaven. In this revelation all of the Qur’aan was sent down at one time to a station in the lowest heaven referred to as “Bayt al-‘Izzah” (The House of Honor or Power). The blessed night on which this descent took place is called “Laylatul-Qadr” (The Night of Decree), one of the odd-numbered nights in the last ten days of the month of Ramadaan.
Which was the Surah of the Qur’an which the Prophet Muhammed (Sallallaahu 'Alayhi Wa Sallam) had recited, when one of his enemies Utba after listening to it asked the Prophet (Sallallaahu 'Alayhi Wa Sallam) to stop?

Haram relationships
Haram earnings
Haram habits...

If you're finding it difficult to leave off haram, I sincerely advise you to supplicate to Allāh using this short & beautiful du‘ā :

اللّهُـمَّ اكْفِـني بِحَلالِـكَ عَنْ حَـرامِـكَ

Allaahumma-k-finee bihalaalika ‘an haraamika

O Allāh, suffice me with what You have made Halal over what You have made Haram

وَأَغْنِـني بِفَضْـلِكِ عَمَّـنْ سِـواكَ

wa aghninee bifaḍhlika ‘amman siwaaka

and make me independent of all others besides You.

Make sure to say it with an attentive heart, placing full trust in Allāh and insha Allah you will see how easy everything will become.

‘Ali raḍhiyallāhu ‘anhu narrated that:

A Mukātab (a slave who has agreed to buy himself out of slavery) came to him and said: “Indeed I am unable to pay off my contract of manumission, so help me.” He said: “Should I not teach you words that the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) taught me? If you had a debt upon you similar to the mountain of Seer, Allāh would fulfill it for you. He said: ‘Say... (and he went on to teach him the above supplication)
