Oh fathers! Be righteous

Be A Righteous Father

‎وَكَانَ أَبُوهُمَا صَالِحًا

“and their father was a righteous man” (Al-Kahf:82)

Abdullah ibn Mas’ūd (may Allāh be pleased with him), used to pray at night and would see his small child sleeping then he would say, “this is for your bright future” and whilst crying would recite:

وَكَانَ أَبُوهُمَا صَالِحًا

“And their father was righteous” (Al-Kahf:82)

lbn Abbās (may Allāh be pleased with him) said: “They were protected by the righteousness of their father.”

Saeed lbnul Musayb said: “I pray, then when I remember my child, I increase in my prayers"

ما معنى التفويض في أسماء الله وصفاته؟

💢الفوائد في العقيدة💢

‏WEEKLY AQĪDAH BENEFITS

WHAT IS MEANT BY TAFWĪḌ CONCERNING THE NAMES & ATTRIBUTES OF ALLĀH❓

Tafwīḍ concerning the Names & Attributes of Allāh is either meant by one of these 2️⃣ meanings:

✅The Tafwīḍ that is CORRECT in which we return the knowledge of the “Howness” of His Lofty Attributes to Him سبحانه وتعالى.

💢For example, Allāh the Most High says:
{الرَّحْمَٰنُ عَلَى الْعَرْشِ اسْتَوَىٰ} [طه : 5]
“The Most Gracious (Allāh) rose above (Istiwā) the (Mighty) Throne (in a manner that suits His Majesty)”

💢We affirm the wording and meaning of this attribute of Allāh ascending above His Throne, but we return the Howness (كيفية) of this attribute to Allāh.

❌The Tafwīḍ that is INCORRECT in which the wording is affirmed WITHOUT affirming the meaning. For example, affirming the wording of الرحمن على العرش استوى without its meaning. This is the misguided belief of the deviant group; Al-Mufawiḍah who do not affirm the apparent meanings of these Lofty Attributes claiming that their meanings are only known by Allāh.

💢This is erroneous! And a simple refutation of this misguided belief is as follows:

▶️Allāh ordered us to contemplate and ponder over the Qurān [and this cannot be achieved if merely the words are affirmed]. Furthermore, the reality of this belief entails that Allāh did not clarify and explain the truth to us despite ordering us to ponder and reflect over the Qurān.

💢As people of the Sunnah we affirm both the wording and apparent meaning of these Lofty Attributes✅ NOT just the wording❗️

💢Sh. Ibn ‘Uthaymīn succinctly summarises it here:
قال الشيخ ابن عثيمين رحمه الله :

"التفويض نوعان : تفويض المعنى ، وتفويض الكيفية .
فأهل السنة والجماعة يفوضون الكيفية ، ولا يفوضون المعنى ، بل يقرُّون به ، ويثبتونه ، ويشرحونه ، ويقسمونه ، فمن ادعى أن أهل السنة هم الذين يقولون بالتفويض - ويعني به تفويض المعنى - فقد كذب عليهم"

حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَنَسًا، قَالَ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ ‏ "‏ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْهَمِّ وَالْحَزَنِ، وَالْعَجْزِ وَالْكَسَلِ، وَالْجُبْنِ وَالْبُخْلِ، وَضَلَعِ الدَّيْنِ، وَغَلَبَةِ الرِّجَالِ"‌‏.‏

Narrated Anas Ibn Maalik, may Allaah be pleased with him:

The Prophet (ﷺ) used to say, "O Allaah! I seek refuge with You from worry and grief, from incapacity and laziness, from cowardice and miserliness, from being heavily in debt and from being overpowered by men."
