▪️Dowloading pictures/videos is picture making in itself▪️

Our Shaykh, Muhammad ibn Hizaam -may Allaah preserve him- was asked the following question:

📩 Question:

Our Sheikh, may Allah preserve you, there are some rare video clips that exist of some of the scholars, the likes of Ibn Baz, Uthaymeen, Albani, etc. And these clips contain rare and important fatwas, as well as useful lectures that we are in need of. However, these clips exist on youtube, and it's well known that YouTube consists of pictures of animate beings and video clips, so is it okay for me to enter this site and download these clips in order to transfer them into audio format so I can spread them in the groups for benefit's sake. May Allah reward you with good.

📝 Answer:

It's not permissible to download pictures/videos of living beings, because you are replicating an existing picture, and this is picture-making in itself. If it's possible to transfer them into audio format straight away without having to download or create a replica, then it's permissible.

▪️Give your children a good education, but don't compromise their Deen▪️

Our Shaykh, Muhammad ibn Hizaam -may Allaah preserve him- was asked the following question:

📩 Question:

What is the ruling on enrolling children into (state) schools on the pretext of teaching them to read and write, and what do you advise the brothers (here in Yemen)?

📝 Answer:

We recommend that Muslims teach their children to read and write in a place where their morals remain intact and where they are safe from corruption, particularly in the homes of Allah, the exalted, the Most High (i.e. Masjids). So if there's a masjid available nearby, then teach your children therein. This is better for you. They shouldn't mix with the people of immorality and disobedience, such that they become spoilt.

Their livelihood will be brought to them by Allah. Some people think that if they don't take their children to school, they are depriving them of their livelihood. (this is an incorrect assumption, as their) livelihood is brought to them by Allah. How many people are there who've never studied in schools and have never attained work by going through the school-system, yet Allah the Almighty has given them much provision! In fact, many employees (who get into employment through the school-system) borrow from (these kind of) businessmen. In many cases, Allah has blessed these businessmen with greater privileges than those employees. The point here is, a person's livelihood is not confined to attending school, as many people - due to their weak Tawakkul (trust & dependence) in Allah, the Almighty - assume; they assume that if his son doesn't study, then he has deprived him of his future; as they say. This is due to their weak Tawakkul in Allah, the Most High.

So give your children a proper education; teach them to read and write, teach them the correct 'Aqeedah under Ahlus-Sunnah wal Jamaa'ah in the Masjids, wherever possible. If this isn't possible, then you can enrol them into a school, while doing your utmost to preserve their morality, and you must work hard to find them a good school that is free from corruption/immortality.

Allah the Most High said:
{فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا ٱسۡتَطَعۡتُمۡ}
"So keep your duty to Allah and fear Him as much as you can"
[Surat At-Taghabun 16].

So do not deprive them of their education; learning to read and write. However, once this goal has been achieved and they begin to read and write proficiently, we advise you to take them out; because corruption is inevitable; a little or a lot.

Ruling on Joining Celebrations of Disbelievers like Christmas or Halloween and Congratulating Them on Those Occasions

🚫 It is not permissible to join the Christians in their celebration even if those who claim knowledge join them, because this increases their numbers and is a kind of support to them in sin and transgression.
Allah (Exalted be He) says (what means):

*وَتَعَاوَنُوا۟ عَلَى ٱلْبِرِّ وَٱلتَّقْوَىٰۖ وَلَا تَعَاوَنُوا۟ عَلَى ٱلْإِثْمِ وَٱلْعُدْوَٰنِۚ*

*"Help you one another in Al-Birr and At-Taqwâ (virtue, righteousness and piety); but do not help one another in sin and transgression."* [Al-Ma'idah, 5:2]

*Ash-Shaykh al-Uthaymeen,* may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

*“Congratulating the kufaar for the holiday of Christmas or other than it of their holidays is haraam based upon the consensus of the scholars, as has been quoted by Ibnul Qayyim, may Allah have mercy upon him, in the book ‘Ahkaam Ahlil Dhimmah’,…it is as if he is congratulating him for his prostration to the cross…”*

*Ash-Shaykh Saalih al-Fawzan*, may Allah preserve him said:

*“…The Christians innovated this birthday and other than it into their religion, while the Prophet Esaa, alayhi as-salaam, did not legislate for them to celebrate his birthday rather they just merely innovated it…”*

*A Reply to a Doubt*

There are some who claim that if the Christians congratulate the Muslims for their Islamic celebrations then it is upon the Muslims to congratulate them back during their celebrations, which is totally wrong and incorrect because congratulating them upon that is actually congratulating them upon their falsehood, rather Islam calls to opposing the kufaar in that.

*A Side Benefit:*

*Ash-Shaykh Yahya al-Hajooree*, may Allah preserve him, said:

*“For the Nasaara (i.e. the Christians) is their own calendar; called the christian calendar (i.e. the western calendar), they began the year upon the birthday of the Prophet Esaa, as they claim and they refer to it as the Christian year, while the Persians have their own calendar (i.e. the Jalaali Calendar) and the Roman have their own calendar (i.e. the Julian calendar)…”*

Drinking blood is forbidden, inside the prayer or out

Our Shaykh Abu Bilaal Al-Hadhramy- may Allah preserve him- was asked the following question on the 9th jumaada thaani 1440:

📝🔹Question:

I bleed from my molar teeth while im praying and perhaps i may swallow it, what should I do and is the prayer valid?

📩🔸Answer:

If you have swallowed it with saliva then the prayer is valid inshaAllah however it is incumbent to spit it out and it is not appropriate to swallow the blood, however if it becomes mixed with saliva, which perhaps there is no escape from swallowing, and you have swallowed this blood with the saliva, then prayer in correct inshaAllah and there is nothing upon on you.
However it is better to spit this blood out which is in your mouth and to avoid keeping it in your mouth or swallowing it, for keeping it in your mouth will perhaps effect you while reading and you will be unable to pronounce the letters of the verses correctly.
As for swallowing it then this is not allowed because the prophet ﷺ prohibited drinking blood(1) and Allah ﷻ has prohibited it also.(2)
So if your not able (to spit it out) except by leaving the prayer, then leave if you do not have any tissues/handkerchiefs with you, and you end up having a nosebleed or the blood begins to come out through your mouth and you are not able to spit it out then there isn't a problem if you leave.

________

(1) The hadeeth of Abdillah bin Az-zubair - may Allah be pleased with him- came to the prophet ﷺ while he was performing hijaamah so when he ﷺ finished he said: "Oh Abdullah, go with this blood and burn it until nobody is able to see it."
So when he had left the prophet ﷺ he intentionally drank the blood. The prophet ﷺ asked him " Oh abdullah, what have you done (with the blood)?"
He said "i have put it in the most discreet of places that i thought would be hidden from the people"
The prophet ﷺ said "perhaps you drank it?"
He said "yes"
The prophet ﷺ said to him " and why did you drink the blood? Woe to the people from you and woe to you from the people"
(The hadeeth is found in Al-bazzaar in his musnad and al-haakim in his mustudrak and al-bayhaqee in his sunan al-kubra)

(2)
(حُرِّمَتْ عَلَيْكُمُ الْمَيْتَةُ وَالدَّم....)

Forbidden to you (for food) are: Al-Maytatah (the dead animals - cattle-beast not slaughtered), blood...
