Spread The Sunnah

Shaykh Muhammad Ibn Saalih Al-'Uthaymeen:

"Whenever you get an opportunity to spread the Sunnah then do so. You will have the reward of the Sunnah and the reward of the one who acts upon it until the Day of Judgment."

'How Excellent Are The People Who Have Abandoned Sweet Dreams...'

Imaam Ibnul-Jawzee, may Allaah have mercy upon him:

"How excellent are the people who have abandoned sweet dreams, withdrawing from that for which they erected their feet for. Standing up to fatigue, themselves in the dark, seeking a portion of the blessing. When the night comes they stand up, and when the day arrives they derive lessons from it. When they look at their faults they seek forgiveness, and when they think about their sins they cry and feel dejected.

O dwelling of the Beloved, where are your inhabitants? O places of sincerity, where are your residents? O spot of the pious, where are your people? O places of nightly prayer, where are your visitors? I have, by Allaah, traveled around and found these people extinct.

Those who used to stay awake at night have gone away and the lovers of sleep are left. These times have sought eating the lust to replace fasting."

The Fitnah Of Fearing Poverty

Sufyaan Ath-Thawree, may Allaah have mercy upon him:

"There is no weapon for the shaytaan against the human similar to the fear of poverty. When it (i.e the fear of poverty) falls into the heart of the person, he prevents the truth (from being manifested), he speaks with the (evil, lowly) desires and he has the thoughts of evil about his Lord."

*AN ABANDONED SUNNAH*

• Sending Salutations upon the prophet ﷺ immediately after hearing the Adhan:

Reported by Bukharee and Muslim.

The shaahid of the hadeeth being: "ثم صلوا علي"
“Then send salutations upon me” i.e. after hearing the Adhaan.

Benefit taken from shaykh Ali Tuwaijiri’s lesson on Usool-Tafseer on 31/03/18.
Related to the previous post, the way to send salutations upon the Prophet Sallallaahu alayhi wa salam after the Athaan can be found in the following post under section 3
*THE 5 SUNAN OF 'ADHAN:*

Overall, there a 5 recommended acts (Sunan) that accompany the 'Adhan, as Ibnul-Qayyim رحمه الله mentioned:

*FIRSTLY:* To repeat after the Mu'adhin, except when he says:
Come to prayer!
Come to success!
in these 2 instances the listener should instead say:
There is no might nor power except by Allah.

*SECONDLY:* After the Mu'adhin says:
The listener should say:
"I too testify that there is no god but Allah alone. Who has no partner, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger, (and that) I am satisfied with Allah as my Lord, with Muhammad as a Messenger. and with Islam as a religion".

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "anyone says these words will have *his sins forgiven*"; as comes in the hadeeth of Sa'd Ibn abi waqqas reported by Muslim.

*THIRDLY:* At the end of the 'Adhan you should say:
"O Allah exalt the mention of Muhammad and the family of Muhammad as You exalted the mention of Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim, You are the Praised, the Glorious, and bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad as you blessed Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim, You are the Praised, the Glorious."

Abdullah ibn 'Amr ibil-'As reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:
"When you hear the Muadhin then say as he says. Then send Salat upon me, because whoever sends Salat upon me, Allah will send Salat upon him ten times due to it..."
Reported by Muslim

*FOURTHLY:* Then you should say:
"O Allah, Lord of this perfect call and the prayer to be offered, grant Muhammad the right of intercession and excellency, and raise him up to the praised station that you have promised him."
[hadeeth Jabir, reported by Bukhari]

In the previous hadeeth of Abdullah ibn 'Amr ibil-'As, Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) continued to say:
"...Then ask Allah that He gives me Al-Wasilah, because it is a place in Paradise which is not for anyone except for a slave from the slaves of Allah, and I hope that I am him. And whoever asks that I have Al-Wasilah, then *(my) intercession will be made lawful for him*."

*FIFTHLY:* supplicate to Allah and ask of Him whatever you wish.

Narrated Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-'As: A man said: O Messenger of Allah, the mu'adhdhins excel us. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Say (the same words) as they say, and when you come to the end, *supplicate (to Allah) and it will be answered*.
[reported by Abu Dawud, graded' saheeh' by Shaykh Albani]

Similarly, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "The supplication made between the Adhan and the Iqamah is never rejected."
[hadeeth Anas, reported by Abu Dawud & Tirmithi]

Beautiful Concise Advice

(Translated meaning)

Abuu Ayyuub Al-Ansaaree, may Allaah be pleased with him, reported: A man came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and he said, “O Messenger of Allaah, teach me something, but make it concise.” The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “When you stand for your prayer, then pray as if you are saying farewell. Do not say anything for which you must apologize, and abandon any desire to acquire what other people have.”
