When To Make Takbeer When The Day Of 'Arafah Comes

Shaykh Bin Baaz, rahimahullah, said:

“It is narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him) and a group of the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) used to recite Takbir following each of the five Salahs from Fajr (Dawn) Prayer on the day of Arafah until the Asr (Afternoon) Prayer on the thirteenth day of Dhul-Hijjah. This is applied to those who do not perform Hajj.” End quote. [Reference]

Ibn Rajab, rahimahullah, said:

” …The scholars have come to the agreement in general that it is legislated to perform takbir after the five daily prayers during these days…”. End quote. [Fathul Baari, Ibn Rajab’s explanation of Saheeh al-Bukhaari]

A Note: Ash-Shaykh Bin Baaz, Shaykh Muhammad bin Saalih al-Uthaymeen, and Shaykh Saalih al-Fawzaan see that a person should utter this takbir that is done at the end of the obligatory prayer once he completes saying istighfar three times and after saying, “Allahumma Anta as-Salaam wa Minka as-Salaam…”.

What Happens If You Observe Fasting On The Day Of 'Arafah?

Abuu Qataadah Al-Ansaaree (may Allaah be pleased with him) narrated, "The Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ) was asked about fasting on the day of 'Arafah (the 9th of Dhul-Hijjah). He replied, 'It is an expiation for the preceding year and the following year.' He was also asked about fasting on the day of 'Aashuuraa (the 10th of Muharram). He replied, 'It is an expiation for the preceding year.'”

A Day That Can't Be Compensated!

Imam An-Nawawi rahimahullah said:

“This is the best day of the Year to make Du’aa, so one should exert himself in making Dhikr, Du’aa and reciting the Quran, and to alternate between the various types of supplications and Dhikr. He should pray for himself, his parents, teachers, companions, friends, his beloved ones, everyone who has been good to him, and the rest of the Muslims. And let one be cautious of falling short regarding that, for indeed this day cannot be compensated.”

Welcome to the Salafi Homeschooling Network!

This channel aims to share and promote useful resources for homeschoolers and help parents/guardians facilitate homeschooling for their children.

Another aspect that we intend to pursue (may Allah grant us success) is the creation of a concise homeschooling guide, textbooks and manuals, covering essential secular subjects without compromising our Deen. If successful, these resources will (by Allah's permission) be able to teach your children what they need to know, if you had no access to other educational resources.

We invite you to join and help us in this endeavour to help our own children and the future generations.

When Should The Sacrificing Of The Animal Occur?

Ash-Shaykh Bin Baaz, rahimahullah, was asked the following question:

Question:

Is the sacrificing of the animal supposed to be done on a specific day (during the days of dhul hijjah)?

Answer:

As for the (appointed) time for making the sacrifice, then it is (a period) of four days according to the correct opinion of the scholars: the day of Eid, which is Eid al-Adhaa, which is the tenth day of Dhul Hijjah, then the eleventh day, then the twelfth day, then the thirteenth day. Also, some of the scholars said it is (only) for three days: the day of Eid and the two days after it. However, the correct opinion is that it is for four days, the day of Eid and the three days after it which are referred to as the days of tashriq.

Therefore, when the people finish praying Salaatul Eid, they should begin with the act of slaughtering. The person should begin with the act of slaughtering after Salaatul Eid as has been commanded by the Prophet sallahu alayhi wa salam, for verily he prayed (first) then he slaughtered.

Seclude Yourself On The Evening Of 'Arafah If You're Able

It is reported that Ataa’a Ibn Abee Rabaah, may Allaah have mercy upon him, said:

“If you are able to be in a state of seclusion; away from people on the evening of ‘Arafah, then do so.”

When Is It Best To Start Congratulating Each Other For Eid – Shaykh al-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah

Question:

When is it best to start congratulating each other for Eid?

Answer:

It should be on the day of eid after the prayer as it comes in some narrations

Hafidh Ibn Hajr rahimahullah said:

“With a Hasan chain from Jubair ibn Nufayr said: The Companions of the Messenger sallahu alayhi wa salam if they used to met on the day of eid they would say to one another: May Allah accept from you and me”

[Fathul Bari]

Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah rahimahullah was asked:

Question:

Is the greeting on Eid and what the people say: Eid Mubarak and what resembles that legislated or not? If it does have an origin in the legislation, then what is said? Please give us a verdict may Allah reward you.

Answer:

As for the greeting on Eid, each person says to the other when meeting after the Eid prayer: Tabbaqal Allah Minna wa Minkum and Wa Ahalahul Allahu Alayka and what resembles that. This has been reported from a group of the Companions radiallahu anhu and they allowed it. However, Imam Ahmed said: I do not initiate it to anyone. If someone initiates it with me then I respond to it. That is because responding is obligatory. As for initiating the greeting then it is not a Sunnah ordered. It is also not something prohibited. So whoever does it, then he has an example and whoever leaves it off, then he has an example. And Allah Knows Best”

The Character The Salafi Should Possess

It is reported that ‘Umayr Ibn Ishaaq, may Allaah have mercy upon him, said:

“I saw from the companions of the Messenger of Allaah ﷺ more than I had not seen of them, and I have never seen people greater in softness than them, and I have never seen people less in harshness than them.”

The State Of The Slave (of Allaah) In Al-Istiaadhah (when you seek refuge with Allaah from Shaytaan before reciting Suurah Al-Faatihah)

Al-Imaam Ibnul-Qayyim, may Allaah have mercy upon him:

"It is from Allaah's knowledge about the enmity and resentment of Satan against His believing slaves and their incapacity to face him that He ordained upon them to take refuge in Him from Satan so that He may suffice them against his evil and harm. It is as if He is saying to His slaves, you cannot win against this enemy; thus take refuge in Me and I shall protect you against him and safeguard you from his evil and harm."
