Dhul-Ḥijjah is the twelfth and final month of the year, and the first 10 days of Dhul-Ḥijjah are the best 'days' of the year!

This year, Dhul-Ḥijjah will start at Maghrib on the 10th of July 2021

Ibn ‘Abbās raḍhiyallāhu ‘anhumā reported: The Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) said:

((ما من أيام العمل الصالح فيها أحب إلى الله من هذه الأيام‏ - يعني أيام العشر - قالوا‏:‏ يا رسول الله ولا الجهاد في سبيل الله‏؟‏ قال‏:‏ ‏"‏ولا الجهاد في سبيل الله، إلا رجل خرج بنفسه، وماله فلم يرجع من ذلك بشيء‏)).

“There are no days during which the righteous action is more pleasing to Allāh than these days (i.e., the first ten days of Dhul-Ḥijjah)." He was asked: "O Messenger of Allāh, not even Jihad in the Cause of Allāh?" He (ﷺ) replied, "Not even Jihad in the Cause of Allāh, except in case one goes forth with his life and his property and does not return with either of it.”

[Al-Bukhāri ]

Ibn Ḥajar raḥimahullāh commented:
“It seems the reason why the ten days of Dhul-Ḥijjah are superior (to all other days) is the fact that this is the (only) time wherein the mother acts of worship are gathered - i.e. prayer, fasting, charity, and ḥajj; which is not possible at any other time.” [Fat-ḥul Bāri]

So I advise myself and you all to:

- desist from evil deeds
- increase in good deeds
- fulfil all obligations
- perform as many voluntary acts as possible
- recite as much Qur'an as possible
- remember Allāh much
- fast throughout these upcoming days if possible. If not, make extra effort to fast the 9th of Dhul-ḥijjah.
- give charity
- enjoin good
- forbid evil
- teach & propagate beneficial knowledge
- offer a sacrifice (goat, cow or camel) on behalf of your household if you are able.

May Allāh forgive our shortcomings, accept our deeds and grant us a good end.

A train to go to learn the deen would've been luxury for them. How quick and easy it is compared to what they went through. They did this while they themselves were scholars and they were surrounded by scholars. We are ignorant, our scholars are dying, alhamdulillaah knowledge is available to us 24/7 via recordings and also weekly lessons, but yet we don't take it seriously. When are we going to wake up?! Allaahul mustaan. May Allaah rectify us and make us of those whom He is pleased with; people of knowledge, actions, and Da'wah.

By the permission of Allah, there will be a lecture this weekend with our beloved Sheikh Abū Abdillāh Muhammad Bā-Jammāl حفظه الله.

The poster will be posted later today or tomorrow إن شاء الله.
