The best actions to do on 'Arafat (today)

Our Shaykh Abū Bilāl Al-Hadaramī - may Allāh preserve him- was asked :5th Dhul Hijāh 1441 (26th July 2020):

📝🔹Question:

What is the best of the righteous actions on the day of 'Arafat?

📩🔸Answer:

The best of what is done on the day of 'Arafat from what attention should be paid to is du'ā (supplication):
["خَيْرُ الدُّعَاءِ دُعَاءُ يَوْمِ عَرَفَة"]
[The best du'ā is the du'ā of the day of 'Arafat]

And it is an answered du'ā by the permission of Allāh - the perfect and exalted.

[And the best of what I have said, I and the prophets before me: Lā ilāha ila Allāh] [1].

So we should show great concern for this remembrance because it is the best rememberance as Ibn 'Abdul Bar - may Allāh have mercy upon him - states.

And the best of what is done on the day of 'Arafat, from what concern should be given to; fasting. Not based on it being obligatory, but simply because of the virtue within it which is the expiation of the previous and oncoming years sins.

So du'ā and fasting and other than that from righteous actions, because the day of 'Arafat is a setting for good and an open field to compete and race in good deeds.

It is a blessed day and a great day. Allāh - the perfect - boasts about the believers to his angels as is in the hadith of 'Āisha (may Allāh be pleased with her in Muslim).

Important note:

It's not allowed to fast the 13th of Dhul Ḥijjah (today)

except for the (mutamatti‘) who hasn't found (or can't afford) a sacrificial animal

That is because these (11th, 12th, 13th) are the days of ‘Eid.

On the authority of ‘Urwah from ‘Ā’ishah and on the authority of Sālim from Ibn ‘Umar, may Allāh be pleased with them all, that they both said:

*لم يرخص في أيام التشريق أن يصمن إلا لمن لم يجد الهدي.*
“No concession was given to fast during the days of tashreeq (11th,12th & 13th of Dhul Hijjah) except for the one who had no sacrificial animal.”

Reported by Bukhārī

So his saying, 'no concession was given' indicates that its impermissible for everyone (to fast) excluding those on whom the concession applies.

Envying the Muslims upon the straightening of their rows◾️

By our Shaykh, the 'Allāmah, the Trustworthy Advisor, Abū 'Abdirrahmān Yahya bin 'Alī Al-Hajūri - may Allāh preserve him -
⤵️
🔸▪️🔸▪️🔸▪️🔸▪️🔸▪️🔸▪️🔸

🎙"He said: "Our rows have been made like the rows of the angels with their Lord. And the description of these rows is that they are close together in the rows and they keep the rows straight. This (what is happening) now is from the upmost envy upon this description, they envied the Muslims for it, And this world health organization stood up and distanced them from this good while they (the people) think that they want good for them, By Allāh they do not want good for you except missing out on this blessing, and this noble trait, if not why do they not war against you if you go to those crowded market places, and the market is full, a person is not able to walk, why do they not war against you in the transport vehicles, There isn't (corona) except in the masjid, just keep distance! Don't stand in the rows as the angles do; so that you don't attain this noble trait.

O people! These ones are envious of you so understand may Allāh grant you success, they don't want good for you, they are not scared for you about Corona, Corona is gone!, Corona came to the people and went, resembling a cold and fever and these associations are hitting the people and distancing the people from what they are upon from good, and even if it hadn't gone! It is from amongst the sicknesses that came (before), how many times have people got malaria and fevers, the associations didn't stand up and say to them distance yourselves in your rows, don't do as the angels in their rows, except in these times, and leave your masājids, and do this, and do that, Allāh said:

(وَلَن تَرْضَىٰ عَنكَ الْيَهُودُ وَلَا النَّصَارَىٰ حَتَّىٰ تَتَّبِعَ مِلَّتَهُمْ)

"And the Jews will not be pleased with you, nor the Christians until you follow their religion."
[Al-Baqarah, 120]

Normal life as they say is as it is in all our places and markets, but the masājids they said: Corona! They oppressed the masājids by Allāh, by Allāh they are the houses of Allāh and from the most virtuous of places, and taken care of and clean. And some places don't have the likes of this cleanliness (like) the markets and other than it, it doesn't have this cleanliness of the masājid nor a tenth of it, and with that they don't care, verily the intent in (the mentioning) of this hadith is: The rows of the angels, this is what we have been favoured with, Allāh distinguished us with it

He said: Why do you all do this?, join us, be like us, don't apart yourselves from us with this action, so they want for this not to be, even if in some instances and attemps and what is of this nature to accustom the people to evil."

Allāh has two eyes that are befitting of his majesty and unlike that of the creation

Our Shaykh Abū Bilāl Al-Hadaramī -may Allāh preserve him- said commenting on 18th Dhul Hijah 1441 (8th August 2020) the below verse :

《 وَأَلْقَيْتُ عَلَيْكَ مَحَبَّةً مِّنِّى وَلِتُصْنَعَ عَلَىٰ عَيْنِىٓ 》
And I bestowed upon you love from Me that you would be brought up under My eye.
(Ta Ha 20:39)

What is the most clearcut evidence - and there is nothing within this category except it - affirming the attribute of two eyes? the hadith of The Dajāl:

[إِنَّ رَبَّكُمْ لَيْسَ بِأَعْوَرَ، وَإِنَّ الدَجَّال أَعْوَرُ العَين الْيُمْنَى]
Your Lord certainly is not one-eyed and The Dajāl is indeed blind in his right eye. [1]

This is the most clearcut evidence and there is no explicit evidence affirming two eyes except it as the scholars say.

[1] AlBukhāri (4402) and Muslim (2933). The exact wording in AlBukhāri:

["إِنَّ رَبَّكُمْ لَيْسَ بِأَعْوَرَ، وَإِنَّهُ أَعْوَرُ عَيْنِ الْيُمْنَى"]
Your Lord is certainly not one-eyed and he (The Dajāl) is blind in his right eye.

A woman marrying herself off◾️

Answered by our Shaykh, the 'Allāmah, the Trustworthy Advisor, Abu 'Abdirrahmān Yahya bin 'Ali Al-Hajūri - may Allāh preserve him - on the 19th, Dhūl-Hijjah, 1441H

📥Question:

What is the ruling of the pre-married woman marrying without a waliy?

📤Answer:

This has become popular in some countries, the people of the hanafi madhab, and it is (unecessary) extention of the topic along with it's opposing of the proofs, many harms are a result of it, for the woman is easy for it to be said about her if some bad happens to her that this one married herself off, or with the judge as a middle man without giving importance to a suitable match and religious devoteness, for verily the waliy has not been legislated except to regulate this matter, and men have guardianship and paying attention and looking after, and the woman has many a time been described with not dealings with things properly, due to the occurring weakness she has, and from her weakness is that she can be manipulated, so for this (reason), this statement is a false statement, that a woman that is named as being right minded can marry herself, and indeed the Prophet ﷺ said:

لا نكاح إلا بولي

"There is no marrying except with a waliy."

An authentic hadith on the authority of the Prophet ﷺ, and he said:

فإن اشتجروا فالقاضي ولي من لا ولي له

"Then if they dispute then the judge is the waliy of one who has no waliy."

So he didn't entrust her affair to herself at all, but if she doesn't have a waliy then the judge assumes that position, the judge is responsible before Allāh, and he pays attention to taking care and looking for a suitable match and what is of that nature, and he does the marriage contract.

So a woman marrying herself off whether she is a virgin or pre-married is false, insufficient. And the children (from that marriage) are awlād shubhah (children that were a result of a false marriage being conducted due to a doubt that the marriage was indeed a legal marriage), they inherit from their mother and father, and the marriage has no blessing in it, it was built upon corruption from the beginning, and this is due to a religious verdict in opposition to the evidence, so we ask Allāh for safety and well-being,

"That they may bear their burdens entirely on the day of resurrection and also of the burdens of those whom they lead astray without knowledge; now surely evil is what they bear."

How to arrange your time as a student of knowledge◾️

Answered by our Shaykh, the 'Allāmah, the Trustworthy Advisor, Abu 'Abdirrahmān Yahya bin 'Ali Al-Hajūri - may Allāh preserve him - on the 14th, Dhūl-Hijjah, 1441H

📥Question:

How does a student of knowledge arrange his time in order for him to attain benefit and not loose enthusiasm for verily when we increase in revision we happen to get tired and a bit bored?

📤Answer:

Indeed it has come in the hadith

"The Prophet ﷺ used to give us sermons/admonishings certain days in order not to bore us."

So with repetition and constantly doing a thing there occurs something of boredom for the one who didn't become accustomed to that a lot, and those who are accustomed boredom goes from him and loss of enthusiasm, so he doesnt become at ease except in doing what he is accustomed to, and having said that if you lost enthusiasm from revision take a bit of rest in reading a good book, take a bit of rest in the biographies of some imams like imam Ahmed, Ibn Al-Mubārak, Al-Bukhāri, of all the imams, the likes of these well known imams, take a bit of rest in researching a topic, because if you are busy with memorizing then simple researching is more easy than memorizing, so if you want to research a topic you find that it confuses you, you look in this book and this book, you will forget loosing enthusiasm, researching will make you forget boredom and many things that occupy the mind and uneasiness, and if you feel loosing enthusiasm in seeking knowledge and that you've become fatigued by this, and you have desire to pray, pray!, for verily you are seeking assistance in this with this

"Seek aid in Allāh and be patient;"
[Al'A'rāf, 128]

If he is for example revising and he has desire to make wudhu and pray and make duā and rest, this is good, this is blessing from Allāh, you are still in the obedience of Allāh and seeking assistance in the obedience of Allāh with the obedience of Allāh, if you loose enthusiasm in revising then go and enter a lesson, you will not finish the lesson inshāAllah, especially some of the general lessons that doesn't have a lot of difficulty verily it is only reading from books and researching and what is of that nature, perhaps what happens of good and what is hope of tranquility the loss of enthusiasm will go from you, so treat yourself with yourself, don't leave yourself to loose enthusiasm, and don't leave it to subordinate you to waste, if loss of enthusiasm happens and you become from those who went to waste, if your (break) period is to sins, you expose yourself to destruction, and if it occurs a period from the obedience of Allāh to the obedience of Allāh you are in good, as comes in the hadith

"Whoevers (break) period is to my Sunnah then he is guided.."

And this occurs becoming fatigued and loosing enthusiasm but it occurs with being at ease, with for example you become more tired, and what makes you become tired people become double that amount of tiredness in endulging in faslehood, in what there is no benefit in it returning to their religion, and if there occurs some tiredness in the obedience of Allāh this is a blessing,

"So when you have finished (from your occupation), then stand up for Allāh's worship (i.e. stand up for prayer). And to your Lord (Alone) turn (all your intentions and hopes and) your invocations."
[Inshirāh, 7-8]
And don't feel that you are worn out you have no enthusiasm, you have this and over burdening and busying, I can't do this, don't burden yourself with this, feel that you are at ease within the limits of what you are capable of, lessons that are not difficult, things easy to memorise, small books to study which are easy to understand, everything MashaAllāh there is nothing to ware one out, don't enter into things that you won't understand or your intellect won't retain, this could cause fustration and relapsing, and it could also cause having bad thoughts because you will say I am not for knowledge, I am considered from the time wasters, and you will keep on belittling yourself until fustration comes to you, it is not like this, but look at something that you can excel in, it is easy for you and you benefit from it, in order for you not to belittle yourself and also that you are not qualified for this so Shaytān comes to you from this angle that you are not fit for this and maybe you leave, so there is no exceeding the bounds nor falling too short, a person doesn't consider himself nothing and he doesn't exalt himself and become haughty hence will be destroyed from where he doesn't perceive, we ask Allāh for assistance.
