Revive This Forgotten Action
It is reported by Al-Husayn ibn 'Alee, may Allaah be pleased with them, that he said: "My father 'Alee called me to bring (water for) ablution, so I brought it to him, and he started by washing his hands three times, before putting them into the water. Then he rinsed his mouth three times and sniffed water into his nose and blew it out three times. Then he washed his face three times, then his right hand up to the elbow three times, then his left likewise. Then he wiped his head once, then he washed his right foot up to the ankle three times, then the left likewise. Then he stood up and said: 'Pass me the vessel.' So I passed the vessel containing the remaining water for his ablution to him, and he drank from it standing up. I was surprised and when he noticed that he said: 'Do not be surprised, for I saw your father the Prophet, ﷺ, doing what you have seen me doing.' referring to his ablution and drinking the leftover water while standing.”

The Mercy Of Imaam Ahmad Ibn Hanbal
May Allaah Have Mercy Upon Him
Al-Imaam Ibnul-Jawzee, may Allaah have mercy upon him, mentions:
When Imaam Ahmad was taken to Al-Mu’tasim, the caliph, to receive the torment, it was said to him: "Pray against the one oppressing you!" Imaam Ahmad replied: “He is not patient (saabir), the one who prays against one oppressing him.”
Imaam Ahmad was taken in the month of Ramadhaan and lashed whilst he was fasting until he fainted. When he gained consciousness a man said to him: “We threw you on your face, laid a mat over you and walked all over you.” Imaam Ahmad said: “I didn’t feel anything.”
They then brought Imaam Ahmad something to drink and said: “Drink this and vomit.” He said: “I wouldn’t break my fast.”
They then took him to the officer’s house and time for Dhuhr came. After they had prayed, a person turned to Imaam Ahmad and said: “You prayed while blood is dripping from your clothes!” Imaam Ahmad replied: “'Umar prayed whilst his wound poured out blood.”
Furan, the student of Imaam Ahmad Ibn Hanbal once informed him of Fadl Al-Anmati: “Fadl said to me: ‘I would not forgive the one who ordered my lashing until I say that the Quraan is created; nor would I forgive the one who lashed me, nor those who were happy over this from those who attended the lashing and those who were absent from the Jahmis!” Imaam Ahmad said in reply: “But I have forgiven Al-Mu’tasim (the caliph), the one who lashed me, and all those who were present or absent. I thought that none should be punished (in the Hereafter) on my account.”

Do Not Honour The People Of Innovation
It is reported that Imaam Al-Awzaa'ee, may Allaah have mercy upon him, wrote:
O Muslims, fear Allaah and obey Him, and accept the advice of the sincere advisers and the exhortation of the exhorters, and know that this knowledge is religion, so be careful about what you do [in it] and from whom you take [it] and who you follow and who you trust your religion to. For verily, the followers of bid’ah (innovation) are all falsifiers and liars, neither are they careful nor do they fear and protect [against wrongdoing], and nor are they to be trusted to not distort what you hear. They say what they know not when criticizing and decrying or when affirming their lies. But Allaah encompasses what they do. So be on guard against them, suspect them, reject them and distance yourselves from them, for this was what your earlier scholars and the righteous latter ones did and instructed others to do.
Beware of rising against Allaah and becoming instruments in the destruction of His religion and undoing its handholds by respecting the innovators, for you know what has come down to us about respecting them. And what stronger respect and veneration can there be than taking your religion from them, following them, believing them, being close to them and helping them in alluring those they allure and attracting those they attract of the weak Muslims towards their ideas and the religion they practice? This is enough to be considered a partnership and contribution to what they do.

◾️Is it permissible to shave the mustache?◾️
Answered by Shaykh Abu Hamza Hassan bin Muhammed Ba Shu'ayb - may Allah preserve him -
📝🔹Question:
Is it permissible to shave the mustache?
📩🔸Answer:
The subject of shaving the mustache or trimming it, is a place of differing with the people of knowledge:
Some of the Haniffiyah see shaving it to be better due to the Hadith:
(انهكوا الشوارب)
"Reduce the mustache"
And the Hadith:
(حفوا الشوارب)
"(Excessively) trim the mustache"
And the Hadith:
(جزوا الشوارب)
"Cut the mustache"
And these wordings point towards overemphasised cutting of the mustache hair.
What's most correct in the mad-hab of the Hanafiyyah and mad-hab of the Shāfi'iyyah is the preference to trimming the mustache, due to the Hadith:
(وتقصير الشارب)
"Shortening of the mustache"
And upon this narration is what the wording (الحف) and (الجز) and (النهك) is understood to mean trimming due to generality of the words, and (الجز) to mean cutting at the borders.
As for Mālik; he took the position of prohibition of shaving.
As for Ahmed; then he saw both to be fine.
What's closer to the evidences at reconciling them all with each other is: shortening.
If the intent was shaving then it would of clearly been said:
(احلقوا الشوارب)
"Shave the mustache"
Even a single narration.
As is the case regarding the pubic hair, due to what is requested in its regard being shaving, it was clearly mentioned in a narration:
(حلق العانة)
"Shaving the pubic hair"
And similarly at the preference of shaving the head at the rituals of Hajj and 'Umrah:
(رحم الله المحلقين)
"May Allah have mercy on those that have shaved (their heads)"
As for the mustache, with the fact that the narrations are many and the wordings differ, there is not one authentic narration mentioning the word shaving, and Allah is the most wise and knows best.
And this position was prevailed by Al-Albāni, may Allah have mercy upon him, in his book "Ādāb-uz-Zafāf", he said:
"His ﷺ statement:
(أنهكوا الشوارب)
"Reduce the mustache" means overemphasised trimming, and similarly:
(جزوا)
"Cut"
What's intended is overemphasised cutting what passes unto the lips, not shaving the mustache entirely, because this is contrary to the established practiced Sunnah from him ﷺ.
For this when Mālik was asked concerning those that excessively trim their mustache: I see them deserving to be hit, and regarding those that shave their mustache: this is an innovation which appeared amongst the people.
Narrated by Al-Bayhaqi, and look in "Fath-ul-Bāri" (285-286/10).
For this reason Mālik would grow his mustache, and when he was asked about this, he would say:
"I was informed by Zayd bin Aslam, from 'Āmir bin 'Abdullah bin Az-Zubair, that when 'Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, used to get angry he would twist his mustache and puff."
Reported by At-Tabarāni in "Al-Mu'jam Al-Kabīr" with an authentic chain of narration, and he and Abu Zur'ah narrated in his "Tārīkh", and Al-Bayhaqi: five of the companions would cut off their mustaches at the edge of the lip, and its chain of narration is Hassan (decent)."

Benefit: The greatest expiator of sins is Tawhīd.
Benefit: The smallest of expiations of sins is by removing a harm from the pathways.
Benefit: The woman who quenched the thirst of a dog, this was a cause and a means for her forgiveness and guidance, Allāh granted her success to a righteous action.
And a disobedient person could do a righteous action and it could be a means and a cause for his guidance.
Benefit: Ibn 'Abdil-Barr, may Allāh have mercy on him, said: "Everyone who innovates in this religion then he is from those that are expelled." [meaning from the Hawdh (fountain of the Prophet ﷺ)]
Shaykh Yahya, may Allāh preserve him, said: "This benefit is to be memorised."
Benefit: Intentionally repeating the Fātihah in Salāh nullifies the Salāh, and if he was to have wiswās (from the Shaytān in doing so) then there is nothing upon him.
Benefit: The people of Jannah will see their mothers, and other than them, from the believers.
Benefit: Drinking water in the circles of knowledge is not considered bad manners, there is nothing preventing this.
Benefit: Frankincense helps in (strengthening) memory but if (consumed) in abundance it could lead to leprosy.
Benefit: Our Shaykh Yahya, may Allāh preserve him, sees the correct opinion to be that the Hawdh (fountain) is one fountain for all nations and that the hadiths which mention that all Prophets have a Hawdh are not free from weakness.
Benefit: The one who has memorised the most of the Qurān and the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ leads (in Salāh) whether they be residents or travellers and if he is disabled in the leg then he is to pray sitting and those praying behind to stand.
Benefit: Dhikr is not considered dhikr except by moving the lips, and likewise (reading) the Qurān, and also the one who prays and doesn't move his lips, not in the Fātihah or other than it his Salāh is not accepted.
Benefit: Having an abortion if the soul has been blown into the fetus is considered murder.
Benefit: There is nothing equal to the companionship of the Messenger ﷺ.
Benefit: Suratul-Baqarah was called with this name due to the mention of the verse of the cow and likewise Suratul-Aāl-i-'Imrān and Al-Mā'idah and Al-An'ām and Al-A'rāf, and perhaps a Surah could have more than one name, and the surah with the most names is Al-Fātihah.
Benefit: Shaykh ul-Islām mentioned regarding Ibn Sīnā being an heretic.
Benefit: Repaying debts in the masjid is allowed as in the hadith of Ka'b: "Half O Ka'b..." - the hadith
Benefit: An-Nawawi has skill in (making) good summarisations.
Benefit: The fiqh of Bukhāri in his chaptering.
Benefit: The Prophet ﷺ seeking refuge is a matter of teaching his ummah because he is protected from the jinn and humans. For verily in the two Sahihs on the authority of Abū Hurairah that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: "Last night an 'Ifrīt from the Jinns came to me to disturb my prayer, but Allāh gave me the power to overcome him. I intended to tie him to one of the pillars of the masjid...." - the hadith.
And the Messenger ﷺ is not protected from annoyance as it comes in the story of the Jewish woman who put poison in the food but it didn't harm him and also the harm of the idolaters when they broke his tooth and cut his face on the day of Uhud, and in Makkah when they threw intestines on his back while he was prostrating ﷺ.
And Allāh knows best.
