🌾Sierentz Global Merchants was founded by Sierentz & Cie in 2017 as a global agricultural merchant focusing on the origination, handling and merchandising of grains and other agricultural products from Europe and the Black Sea region to a wide range of private and government customers in Africa, the Middle East and Asia.

📌We are looking for a strong Software Engineer/Data Scientist to join our growing team. Our ideal candidate is a fast thinker, quick learner, and has excellent problem-solving skills. We want someone with experience in algorithms, data science, and developing efficient code for business needs.

🖇️𝐑𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬:
— Excellent Python scripting and programming skills
— Proficiency with common data science tools, such as Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, Dask, Matplotlib
— Familiarity with Linux (Unix/Ubuntu)
— Experience with SQL databases, preferably PostgreSQL
— Ability to produce innovative ideas and approaches
— Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
— Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
— Self-driven and passionate about impacting business with data
— Ability to receive code reviews with constructive feedback and to provide them in return

🏅𝐍𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞:
— Experience in processing satellite images
— Experience in multiprocessing
— Experience with cloud services platforms such as AWS/EC2
— Docker, Bash

📝𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬:
— Analyze, design, develop and automate data manipulation scripts
— Carry out research to find solutions for unique and complex business problems using data
— Work with algorithms, data frames, SQL
— Manage database changes and re-designs
— Write high quality, performant, and industry-standard code
