Beneficiaries of the Hesed Besht Foundation in Kamianets-Podilskyi Visit Unique Traveling Art Project
In Kamianets-Podilskyi, the beneficiaries of the regional branch of the Hesed Besht charitable foundation visited a unique mobile art initiative — the Art Train, a joint project by JSC Ukrzaliznytsia and the Howard Buffett Foundation.
Two railway carriages, transformed into exhibition space, currently showcase the photo exhibition Courage of a Nation (“Vidvaga Natsii”), featuring photographs by Howard Buffett himself — a world-renowned photographer and steadfast friend of Ukraine.
“This project was created to bring art closer to every Ukrainian and make it truly accessible,” the organisers emphasised.
The exhibition is curated by Mohammed Muheisen, a photo artist, two-time Pulitzer Prize laureate, photojournalist, and National Geographic researcher. The display covers events from February 2022 onwards, conveying an emotional and historical narrative of contemporary Ukraine through the artist’s unique photographic perspective.
Tomorrow, the train will continue its journey through Ukrainian cities. The public can track its route and register for free exhibition viewings on Ukrzaliznytsia’s official website.

📖 FJCU Chaplain Presents First Ukrainian-Language Siddur to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy
On August 25, 2025, Kyiv hosted the National Prayer Breakfast of Ukraine — an annual gathering that unites government officials, faith leaders, international partners, military chaplains, families of fallen heroes, humanitarian organizations, and youth leaders. It has become a space of unity, where faith and shared values transcend political divisions.
During the event, FJCU Chaplain Yakiv Syniakov presented President Volodymyr Zelenskyy with the first-ever Ukrainian-language Siddur. Ukrainian-language editions of Tehillim were also gifted to Minister of Defence Denys Shmyhal and Lt. Gen. Keith Kellogg, the U.S. Special Envoy to the Russia-Ukraine War.
The Federation of Jewish Communities of Ukraine runs its own publishing and translation center, dedicated to making key Jewish texts accessible in Ukrainian. In recent years, FJCU has published Ukrainian editions of Tehillim, children’s books, and now “Tehilat Hashem” — a special weekday Shacharit Siddur with Ukrainian translation, commentary, and explanatory notes. This marks the first step toward a complete Ukrainian-language Siddur, currently in preparation.
Printing was carried out at Michael Shifrin’s press in Kharkiv with the support of Mark Menachem Mendel Vynarsky, long-standing FJCU partners in publishing Jewish religious literature.
