TRUMP ADMINISTRATION ACCUSED OF POLITICALLY TARGETING $7.5 BILLION IN CLEAN ENERGY GRANTS

Court filings indicate that the Trump administration canceled more than $7.5 billion in federal clean energy grants for projects in states that voted for Kamala Harris in the 2024 election. The filings reportedly state that the grants were selected based on the political identity of the recipient states rather than program performance or economic criteria. The Department of Energy disputes the interpretation, saying political considerations related only to the timing of the announcement, not the underlying funding decisions. The matter is being challenged in court.
