В целом прекрасно, хотя мы остались без финала. Музыканты, выныривающие из натурального болота с черничником — не самая яркая, но самая симпатичная часть. Ежевики, кстати, море.

'Whistling' or 'screaming' arrows (which had whistles built into them) were often used by soldiers across Eurasia, mostly for signals & ceremony – tho some were used in battle to frighten horses (or sometimes soldiers). Photos 1-4 from Palace Museum, Beijing.

Photo 5, from a 1628CE Chinese military encyclopedia: (L) Ming Xiao Jian (鳴髇箭, lit. 'Whistling arrow'), often used for entertainment purposes; (R) Ming Ling Fei Hao Jian (鳴鈴飛號箭, 'Ringing bell flying screaming arrow'), its entire arrow shaft is modified into a flute.

Modu Chanyu (or Mete Khan, 234–174BCE, Photo 6), leader of the Xiongnu, is often credited as the inventor of the whistling arrow, which he used to train horse-bound troops (seen here in a Han tomb painting, Photo 7) to use as a sonic target to coordinate aiming at a single precise target.
