How to trade on the Bank of England?
➡ British central bank is expected to increase its interest rate from 0.5% to 0.75% today at 14:00 MT time. Usually, a rate increase is positive for a currency, but this time it’s already in the price of the GBP, so it won’t be easy for the GBP to rise. Moreover, the BOE Governor may say cautious and pessimistic things because of the Brexit uncertainty. If so, any advance of the GBP will be very short-lived.
On H4 chart of GBP/USD, it looks like a “Head and Shoulders” pattern. A break below 1.3075 will trigger a fall to 1.3015/00.
What is needed for the GBP to turn up?
Hints on further rate increases + positive changes in bank’s economic forecasts. This scenario doesn’t seem very likely, but it would make GBP rise to 1.3150 ahead of 1.32.
What if there’s no rate increase?
GBP/USD will fall sharply, to 1.2950 and maybe even to 1.2850.

#EconomicCalendar
It’s the first Friday of August, and the markets are enjoying the summer heat. ☀
🇺🇸 Today the US will release NFP (Nonfarm Payrolls or Non-Farm Employment Change as indicated in the economic calendar) at 15:30 MT time. Many traders are waiting for this release.
Pairs to trade: GBP/USD, AUD/USD, NZD/USD, USD/JPY.
What is expected?
The market expects solid economic figures from America. According to the forecast, NFP will be +191K. A number close to 200K will be positive for the USD. Notice that traders will look not only at NFP: another indicator may be even more important – Average Hourly Earnings. The forecast for this indicator is 0.3% vs. the previous number of 0.2%. If it comes true, the USD will remain strong. If it is 0.4%, the USD will jump up. The reading of 0.2% and lower will make the USD decline.
Analysts at Nomura and Deutsche Bank are expecting a strong NFP but they don’t expect much from Average Earnings Index. The USD is near highs now, so if the market gets disappointed, it will correct down.

‼ Mixed data from the US
🔹 NFP came out at 157K vs. the forecast of 191K
🔸 Average Hourly Earnings came at 0.3%, same as expected
🔸 Unemployment Rate declined from 4.0% to 3.9%
American economy is adding jobs, but not fast enough so there’s a modest negative reaction in the USD.

↗ JP Morgan bets on the long JPY because of 2 reasons. The first one is trade tensions. The second one is changes in the BOJ monetary policy (greater volatility in 10Y JGB yields).
↘ Goldman Sachs predicts USD/CNH at 6.90-7.10 in 3-6 months. In 12 months, the yuan will have chances to recover to 6.6. Moreover, the bank bets on a trade deal between China and the US, but before that, tensions will escalate.

🔱 A Westpac forecast:
↔ 70% - neutral effect on the NZD. Westpac anticipates the same monetary policy statement as the previous one.

🔺 In case of the hawkish central bank, the pair will go to the resistance at 0.6785 (the trendline).

Happy Saturday friends☀
We prepared something interesting for you!
The Forex trading is full of so difficult but so significant words. We present you the list of the most important definitions without which you aren’t able to start trading❗
🔷 Deposit – sum you put on your account.
🔶 Leverage – an ability to trade with a big amount of money using a very little sum of your own. E.g., you have $1,000 but want to trade $100,000 position, $99,000 will be provided by the broker. In this case, the leverage is 1:100.
🔷 Account equity – the sum of your own money you have on the account which factors in profit/loss on your current open positions.
🔶 Margin – the minimum amount of your own money you need to have on the account to open a position (1-2% of the position size).
🔷 Used margin – the total sum of margin used for all open positions.
🔶 Free margin – the sum of your balance that is available to open a new position (= account equity – used margin).
🔷 Margin call – if you are losing money on a trade, your broker gives you a warning. E.g., at FBS, you’ll get a margin call if your account equity drops to 40% of the margin and lower (40% of $1,000 margin = $400).
🔶 Stop out – in case you kept a losing position, the broker will close it at the current market price if your equity drops to a certain level. (At FBS, the level is 20%. It means that if your sum falls to $200 from $1,000, your position will be closed automatically).

Have you seen it? EUR/USD rose to 1.16!
☝ This pair acts as a barometer of the market’s risk sentiment. Traders await positive news of the US-China trade talks. In addition, the US President Donald Trump has recently criticized the Federal Reserve’s rate hikes, and the USD weakened.
However, EUR/USD came close to resistance of a trend line and 50-day MA. The euro needs to get above 1.1635 to return to 1.1725. Support is at 1.15.
⬇ If there are no big results from trade talks (this is likely given the fact that the negotiations are not at the top level) and the Fed’s minutes (released today at 21:00 MT time) is hawkish, EUR/USD will turn down.
⬆ If the Fed’s minutes show that the US central bank is concerned with trade tensions, we may see EUR/USD break above the trend line and test higher levels.

Another important factor to consider!
Two ex-advisers of the US President Donald Trump are facing prison sentences - and one of them saying Trump told him to commit a crime.
Former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort was found guilty on tax and bank fraud charges, while Trump’s former personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, pleaded guilty to a range of charges. Cohen also testified that Trump directed him to commit a crime by arranging payments ahead of the 2016 presidential election to silence two women who said they had had affairs with Trump.
➡ No doubts that Trump faces serious political problems. This is negative for the USD.
