🇬🇧 UK GDP grew 0.1% m/m in August, beating expectations for a 0.1% decline. Annual growth accelerated to 2.1%, versus expectations of 1.7% and the previous reading of 1.6%.

🏦 Fed rhetoric is becoming more hawkish amid rising inflation. Goolsbee called the latest inflation data “discouraging” and warned that several more months of high inflation would be unacceptable. Daly said further rate hikes are likely to be needed. BlackRock CEO Larry Fink also expects US interest rates to remain elevated for an extended period.

📈 Markets are pricing in further Fed rate hikes. According to Bloomberg, traders are fully pricing in two rate increases by the end of January 2027. BofA now expects three rate hikes by June 2027.
