❓ How we choose entry points in a trade

After a recent poll, we decided to clarify something - how we actually choose entry points in a trade. A correct entry often determines the outcome of the entire position, so it’s important to know where to look for signals.

1️⃣ Breakout entry
The price breaks a key support or resistance level. Confirmation comes from a solid candle close beyond the level and rising volume. This lets you catch the move from the very start. But be careful with false breakouts, when the price seems to break through but then quickly returns. Always wait for volume confirmation or a clear hold above/below the level.

2️⃣ Retest entry
After a breakout, the price often returns to the broken level, which now acts as support or resistance. Confirmation comes from a bounce off the level with a strong candlestick reaction. This type of entry is safer and gives more confidence in the move.

3️⃣ Consolidation trading
The price moves in a narrow range. Entry points are at the boundaries of the channel or range. Confirmation comes from a repeated bounce off the boundary and reduced volatility.

4️⃣ Trend-Following entry
Enter in the direction of the main trend after impulse confirmation. Confirmation comes from movement above/below a moving average or breaking a local high/low in the trend direction.

How it works (example):

Pros:

Cons:

➖ Less effective in sideways markets
