is so precious. Rahab and every child in Gaza is so precious and sacred.

Here, Ms Rachel is making all these other “children’s advocates” (parenting authors, influencers, childcare providers, speech and language people, mental health people, et) look WEAK and hopefully take note of what COURAGE looks like, what TRUE advocacy and care for all children looks like, and what not abandoning your humanity looks like.

If this is not how you’re using your platform during a gen0c!de, we cannot be in community. Furthermore, I hold deep regret (and simultaneous self-compassion) about any and every time I ever sought approval from anyone who could ignore this level of pain and anguish from children anywhere in the world. We see you. We are sad to have to share the world with you.

PS— I had to show a lot of restraint here with my language because I very much want to cuss out a lot of specific people. 😮‍💨 source

Soooo I went and watched some video compilations of teachers saying kids can’t read or spell. And it feels obvious that these are the iPad babies who’re finally getting older. You know, the iPad babies who didn’t develop their fine motor skills to actually hold a pencil. Because all they know is tapping on an iPad.

Parents you need to realize you are your children’s first educator. You read picture books to them. You sing ABC’s with them. You do not give them a screen to watch that will shorten their attention span no matter how much you think it will help you.

Because it will not help your kids in the long run. It’s already harming them. Take them to the library. Get together with your neighbors for play dates. Your family members. Find people to babysit. Find events to take your kids to like an arts and crafts festival. source

again while we're on the topic:

it always bears repeating to everyone who will listen that several years ago when i unfortunately caught covid from a roommate, i had mild cold symptoms for several days and was not allowed to take off work without a positive covid test.

i used a rapid test every day for five days. i tested positive on the fifth test on the fifth day of symptoms. i was contagious that entire time.

none of my coworkers wore masks, but i wore a well-fitted N95 every day. i protected them, and none of them got sick. i wish that the same care and courtesy were extended to me, as the immunodeficient member of their team, but i was glad, regardless, that the spread stopped with me (barring asymptomatic infections, which is always a possibility).

i tell a lot of stories about the times i've narrowly escaped covid after high-risk exposures, protected by my mask, but here's an example of my masking protecting others. source

#AllChildrenAreOurChildren - these babies were someone’s world, they were their own worlds with their thoughts and their fears and their joys and their imaginings of what their future would look like and be like.

Isra€l is actively gen0c!ding Pa|estinian futures and I understand why #AaronBushnell did what he did. The desperation is too big and too heavy to contain. The fact that it continues, accepted and celebrated, is something I will never ever forgive the responsible humans for. Once again, I am needing to demonstrate so much restraint expressing what I actually think needs to happen to them.
When this happens, it's usually because the owner only shared it with a small group of people, changed who can see it or it's been deleted. source
