My doctor and therapist: now with this autism + ADHD diagnosis you need to learn to unmask because masking all the time will make you burn out again and feel like shit
Other people: well it's just interesting how after getting the diagnosis you suddenly start behaving like that I mean I'm not saying you're faking it's just funny how you suddenly cannot be normal like you were before
Tumblr user regionalpancake:
THIS IS SO TRUE!

Tumblr user hazard-symbols-that-fuck-hard:
I’ve been seeing quite a few phony “wildlife rescue” videos recently, so I just want to put out this quick PSA:
- don’t “save” wild prey animals from predators. just don’t. even if the prey animal is cute. even if the predator is scary or gross.
- if you find a baby deer all on its own, it’s doing fine. deer naturally leave their fawns alone for extended periods of time. leave it alone. mama will come back, and she can take care of baby much better than you can.
- if, however, you find a fawn with heavy, visible open wounds, or if mom has a carcass nearby, then you can call a qualified wildlife rehab center. do NOT bring it into your house and try to raise it yourself
- don’t try and raise ANY wild animals yourself, actually. The only exception I would give would be like, jumping spiders or earthworms
- don’t touch wild animals. not even if they come up to you. not even babies. ESPECIALLY not babies. source

POST MORTEM: On the recent AI post incident in our group
In the spirit of transparency and collective care, we are sharing a post mortem of what happened recently in our group and on our page. This is a situation that deeply impacted our members and our moderation team.
What happened:
Three members shared posts in one of our groups that included content created using AI. While the posts did not violate any rules, it was met with a surge of hostile comments, including calls to self-harm, which appeared rapidly and in large volume.
At the time, our moderation team was not focused on the group. Our group has historically been calm, so this sudden escalation took us by surprise. One of our core admins, a disabled, neurodivergent trans person with a strong commitment to justice, stepped up, did their best to offer nuances and published a clarification:
- Trans people are allowed to express themselves here, so long as they are not harming others. That includes using AI.
This principle is not new. We have applied it to posts about religion, firearms, and other polarizing topics. The rule is consistent: express yourself in your own thread, don't impose your values on others, don't force it in other people's threads and no abuse or bullying is tolerated. Ever.
We followed with:
- A public statement reaffirming our values on the page.
- A community post asking members to share how they use AI tools for accessibility and expression.
That post received many enlightening testimonials but it too was targeted with disturbing replies, including but not limited to calls to self-harm. The algorithm will not allow us to spell it out directly, but you can imagine the worst and you would be close. Thankfully our automatic filters hid the worst from users, but our moderators had to read it all. It was devastating and stressful. This created a situation where our team did not communicate with respect to our usual standards. Now that the post has been cleaned up of abuse, we encourage you to visit it and read the lived experiences it contains. We learned a lot and think you will too.
What we know:
This wasn't entirely organic. While many responses reflected real tensions in the broader trans community and leftist spaces around AI, a portion of the abuse came from coordinated outside actors a mix of anti-AI extremists (this is what we call people who encourage others to experience physical harm for using the technology) and transphobes exploiting the topic to stir division. We have banned raiding transphobes who were masquerading as both pro-AI and anti-AI trans people to sow division.
- If you feel you were banned unfairly, please reach out to us on this page or on one of our backup pages.
We don't say this to silence critique. This issue is divisive. The volume and intensity of the conversation shows just how fractured our community already is.
That's exactly why our goal is not to deepen those fractures. We are not here to divide trans people into "good" and "bad" based on how they speak, create or survive. We are here to maintain a space where all trans people: neurodivergent, disabled, artistic, technical, messy, shy or loud are allowed to exist without being told that they cannot be valid. We believe that trans people are allowed to have flaws like everyone else and that gatekeeping access to ressources behind a puritity test is deadly.
What we stand for:
- We do not platform AI art. We don't promote it here and when we are made aware that a content creator we reposted used it we either delete the post or make a note to not platform them again.
- We do not ban trans people for using tools to communicate or create. Instead, we ask that people cohabitate respectfully within our spaces. This means accepting that the trans community will never be a hive mind and will always be a group of individuals from all walks of life coming together to fight for their rights.
- We do not allow abuse. Ever. source

My goddaughter did the most brave thing today that she wants me to share. She gave a speech at her school and took the time to read her victim impact statement. This is what is said:
“Your honor and to the man who hurt me,
You may not see me as powerful. Maybe that’s why you chose me. But I am here to tell you that I am not the same girl you thought you could silence. I am standing here now and in my truth.
I’m facing you today for all of the girls who weren’t believed, all of the women who didn’t get justice, and for those who are no longer here to live in their joy.
So this moment is not just mine. It’s for every one of us who screamed inside of our head because we were to afraid to scream out loud.
You made me carry a shame that was never mine to begin with, but today I am letting that go.
What you did to me changed me. But I get to decide what to do with that pain. And I choose to turn it into power. source
