📢On the last Tuesday of each month at 19:00 CEST, tune into the Online Café for a casual energy-related conversation with experts from the field. Grab your drink of choice, make yourself comfortable, and get ready to Learn, Discuss, and Network with your fellow energy enthusiasts!
🗓️For the April Session at Online Café, we will cover the topic Why energy communities matter? For this session, we are also participating in the #TheGreenTrack campaign from EU and we are one of the Green Track Stops.
🗣️ Our speaker for the session will be Niccoló Primo. He is an energy engineer with a background in renewable energy systems. After finishing his studies, Niccoló decided to come back to Portugal to join Coopérnico, a local renewable energy cooperative. He is working on adoption of renewable energy technologies, identifying business opportunities for energy community projects and collaborating with international companies to decentralize, decarbonize and digitalize the energy sector.
🎙In this session, we will discuss:
👉 What is an energy community?
👉 What are the differences between Renewable Energy Community, Citizens Energy Community and (Renewable) Energy Cooperative?
- Definition of energy communities according to EU Commission
👉 Differences between “business-as-usual" vs. “energy community/cooperative” way
- How is the decision-making process?
- What are the objectives?
- How is the ownership?
👉 Why do we need energy communities?
- What do you gain from the system perspectives?
- What are the advantages of energy communities?
👉 How can the energy communities contribute to energy transition and fighting against climate change?
