Dagmawi Babi's Meetup is an exclusive event organized by Dagmawi Babi and his team as a thank you to all the incredible individuals, creators, event organizers, companies and communities improving and accelerating the tech and design ecosystem in Ethiopia.
It's a thank you for taking risks, for pioneering new ventures, for taking the blame, for investing so much of yourself into the benefits of everyone else, for spending months building epic things, for spending countless nights preparing events, for imagining a community that can be much better than what it is and working towards your vision.
We're going to spend an incredible full day where we listen to insightful keynotes, explore project showcases, attend a live podcast (Devtopia), hold an in-person Creator Awards (by Codenight) and so much more.
The date is Jan 24, 2026 and the event will take place at ALX Hub. Visit the event site for more info. Thank you again and I can't wait to see you there!

just found a cool archive that i wanted to share with yall
https://archive.org/details/folkscanomy?tab=about
whomever you are i can geniunely say this will definetly help u out fr(trust me cuz ive said soπ)so check out.
Folkscanomy: A collection of books and text derived from the efforts of volunteers to make information as widely available as possible. Because the metadata related to these scanned books are often done outside the library or cataloging industries, finding material can be more difficult. The Folkscanomy collection attempts to add a layer of classification for easier navigation.

Sup guysπ«‘, been a while
I could say many reasons for ghosting you lot that Iβve been academically burnt out, tired and lazy and all but truth is I mainly didn't know what I wanted to say.
over the year I've kinda changed a lot. New interests, new hobbies, new creative obsessions. it felt like those parts of me clashed with the person this channel was built around. I tried balancing both, but it started feeling performative. I'd think, "Would people here even care about this?" Most of my friends (met em touching grass btwπ) honestly didn't and that's completely fine. Not everyone has to.
Then tonight I realized something.
I was attached to the rapid growth this channel had in the beginning. I convinced myself I was building a community of like-minded people, and when the interaction slowed down, I started tiptoeing around my own interests because I didn't want to lose what I'd built.
That's a terrible reason to create. So I'm done doing that.
From now on, this channel is going to reflect what I'm genuinely curious about ...philosophy, history, art & architecture, photography, coding, interesting theories, and the creators and builders behind them basically the rabbit holes I keep falling into (human art in general).
I'm not abandoning opportunities, resources, or educational posts. Those are staying. I'm just widening the scope to include the things that make me excited to learn and create.
Will some people leave? Probably.
But I'd rather have a small group that's genuinely interested than a larger audience I'm constantly trying to please.
So if any of that sounds like your thing, stick around. Ask questions. Share your thoughts. Recommend books, creators, ideas, or projects.
Because I'm staying no matter how small the circle gets.
