With an opening welcome from President Sergey Soloveychik, the 73rd Ordinary Congress of the European Judo Union began today in Istanbul, Turkey. 

Mr Soloveychik expressed his great appreciation to all of the federations knowing how difficult the pandemic period has been for all of mankind and our judo family-

For 28 times in a row, the Austrian Judo Federation have organised the Olympic Training Camp at Mittersill in January. What started in 1993 with a couple of hundred judoka, turned into the biggest judo training camp in Europe with up to 1.100 participants from about 70 countries.

This year everything is different. The fire brigade will not need to provide the judo mats for 1.300 square meters. The local buses will be used mainly for residents. The number of tourists coming to town is low due to the pandemic. There will be no OTC this year because of local COVID-19 restrictions. #covid19 #pandemic
